I just read the first part of Takahashi-sama's new epos, Inu-Yasha.
It's a bit slow but what I could see, it looks good, a little bit of
Fire tripper, with the time-thing and all.
What I wonder is, have any of you read it and if so, what do you think?
Yeah I just bought it and I was seriously impressed. You can see
the evolution in her art clearly and although the main character,
Kagome, looks like a composite of Ranma-onna, Kasumi, Mousse, and the
gilr from Mermaid Forest, I still thought that it was a definite
improvement from Ranma and UY (I'm not sure about Mermaid and MI)
The story, like you said, is slow, but I believe it has a wide
scope that in can encompass. I can see almost anything happening. I mean
what is the relationship between Kagome and Inu-Yasha going to be like?
Probably love hate if I know Takahashi. But other than that it is a
great blend of her usual humor and a good fairy tale-fantasy drama. The
really cool part is that the story slips back in time several hundred
years the Meiji period I believe, and I think most of the action will
take place there.
As you cann see I'm guessing about all of this since, Inu-Yasha
is being run concurrently in Japan and America. That is the absolute
best. For once Viz is making me like them.....
All I'm going to say is, if you like Takahashi and you haven't
gotten Inu-Yasha yet, go out and buy the Manga and read it, and then buy
the next nine issues when they appear. That is an order or I'll send my
killer P-chan clones and Mallet weilding Akane robots after you ^_^
