Not a darkfic, but a sadfic. Has potential. However, there is one
problem with the premise, and that has to do with Tsunami. The two of them
are pretty much bonded together, and so long as Tsunami lives, Sasami
will, too. The link would probably keep Sasami alive, no matter what. If
Tsunami died, though, then yes, that would happen. Problem with killing
Tsunami is, how does one kill a goddess in the Tenchi universe?

Since Tsunami is not at Earth,  It might take her awhile to come to earth
and bring her back to life.  That could be a real ending.  After three
day's and when everyone is at thier lowest point, she returns.

	But I thought their link was more solid than that, somehow, that
they don't have to be physically close to...well, whatever. After all,
Sasami's reflection in water is Tsunami, and vice versa.
