The story would take place after the "accident" happened . . . come to
think of it, that would have to be a darkfic. Very solemn, very
depressing; the actual story would be some of the characters dealing with
Sasami's death.

problem with the premise, and that has to do with Tsunami. The two of them
are pretty much bonded together, and so long as Tsunami lives, Sasami
will, too. The link would probably keep Sasami alive, no matter what. If
Tsunami died, though, then yes, that would happen. Problem with killing
Tsunami is, how does one kill a goddess in the Tenchi universe? 

You could always kill Mishoshi. She's airhead enough not to understand when
to dodge. Especially if it happens suddenly. And she did try to stop 
Ryoko and Ayeka's argument in TM 8.
