Subject: [spam] Cat-Person's Page and our reactions...

Hi all, ^_^;;

Wow, seems like all my email to this list is very very lagged. Oh well.

Anyways, just wanted to put in my two cents about the guy's page.

Though I found his page rather inflaming, I didn't email the
root@geocities.com on that basis.

I emailed them on legal and guideline basis. Cat-person's page is in direct
violation of their(geocities) guidelines for home pages.

As Hitomi mentioned, it does seem a bit extreme that our group would go and
attain mob-like attitudes about the guy's page. He _IS_ entitled to his
freedom of speech... as are we.

Oh well, maybe no one reads my posts or maybe the demon of the net eats my
email, but I just wanted to say that the freedom of speech means different
things to different people. How we react to it... be it positive or negative,
is also a freedom of speech. Sometimes, not saying anything is a freedom as
well. {Which I'm obviously not exercising. ^^;;}

If CatWhumper's page gets booted off Geocities, it means the Internet loses a
small battle for freedom of speech... or so one group would think. At the same
time, on another front, one group would think that a battle was won for the
freedom of speech. Who's to say who's right?

Alot of us here view his page as an afront to our beliefs. He might think our
beliefs are an afront to his. If so, then we both think we are doing the
community justice(Assumes CatKicker is serious with his ideas and not just
jerking around).

Oh well, *groans* My fever is back and I lost my train of thought.

Point is, we are all entitled to our opinions... but I think someone once
mentioned that one's freedom extends as far as the next person's face. Or in
this case, the next person's Manga/Anime.

Wing.

ps. We ALL practice censorship to one degree or another. To say that we
shouldn't say anything against CatWhipper's page is also censorship. To say
his page should not be done... or any like it is censorship. For him to say
that our interests and beliefs are stupid and should be avoided is also a form
of censorship.

Just something to ponder about.
