{A disgruntled 18 year old SD boy walks into the middle of the screen.}
Boy: I doubt that anyone here even thought of making a Teknoman/Tekkaman fic, so
dont bother and Ill just do it for you. Jeez. And the reason why Im doing
this is because I a have been terribly scarred by the cancellation of a great
series. That means I am filled with RAGE!! Grrrr.!!
{Then, a 24 year SD man with semi-long black hair and a scar over his left eye
walks up behind him and baps the boys head, knocking him out.}
Man: For crying out loud, you dont need to bite their heads off! {He turns to
you.} Teknoman belongs to UPN in the USA and in Japan, whoever did it, because
smarty here couldnt find out who made the story in the first place and who ran
it in the first place. In other words, it belongs to whoever made it. Also, a
few things have been changed here and there, for the sake of ingenuity.
{The man drags the boy out, mumbling about being impulsive.}

Teknoman:
Sharas Last Gift
By Christian Clark
Based on the Manga
Space Knight Tekkaman Blade
Chapter 1
Time: After Sharas Rescue
It didnt look good. One thing was certain. The condition of Shannon "Shara"
Carter was getting progressively worse. Her battle with Saber/Cain Carter, had
taken more out of her than she had hoped. Plus, the injuries she sustained while
in her other form caused several cases of internal bleeding, although small. The
best they could do was stitch the open areas and give her a blood transfusion.
The blood given to her was a sacrifice made from both Star Summers and
Slade/Ness Carter, Shannons older brother. She had overheard through the
telepathic link between them both how Ness explained how their lives were ruined
and the Venomoids were led to Earth.
Staring at the light above her head, she sighed. She knew that she was going to
die soon, but the news had driven her brother, who was the only one she had
left, near to the brink of madness. She didnt want to see him like that, but
he had to know the truth. She shivered as she "heard" Slade talk about how the
Tekno conversion process stretched the human body its limits, and worse, when
she remembered seeing her father, Professor Edward Carter, save him and put him
into the escape pod and shot him to Earth.
Yet, there were a great many things that he didnt know that she did. About how
the Teknomen were not always this way. She had learned, studied, and found
several pieces of information that would greatly aid the defense of earth. In
addition, continue a legacy that was once thought lost. If fate allowed it. Then
she remembered, being back at the moon.
*************************************************
"Dagger! Dagger! You awake?" Spoke a voice that Shannon knew rather well, it
belonged to Katherine Thompson, her older brother Conrads fiancee.
"Yes. I hear you Sword. What is it?"
"Can you see him?"
"The one named Darkon you mean?"
"Yes."
"I can see him. Why are you telling me this?"
Before she continued, she started to sound like it was crying.
"Swo...Katherine, what is it?"
"Its him. Conrad. Hes that thing!"
Shannon gasped at the realization, she knew her brother Conrad had survived the
process, but she didnt see or hear him anywhere. Now, she knew, to her horror
that he had become the leader of the evils that had taken the crew of the Argos
and made several of them into Teknomen. Tears started to stream from her own
eyes, knowing that he was lost, as was Cain.
*************************************************
Yet somehow, there were some other Teknomen that had not yet fallen
under the influence of the darkness, herself, Katherine/Sword, and a few others,
but the chances of getting out were very slim and a few of them had given up
hope. Not Shannon; she and a few others still believed that Slade had made to
Earth and hopefully stopped the advance of the monster that held them all
captive.
Coming back to reality, she heard the door open. She turned to see several
members of the personnel walk in, also with Ness and their commander, whom she
knew went by the name Jamison. There was also the two that followed Slade when
they rescued her, the taller man, Ringo and the women, Star who also have some
of her blood to save her. There was also a rather rotund man, with darker skin
than all the others and also a man or woman, she couldnt tell, in purple
overalls with a green long sleeved shirt that showed the shoulders. Then, she
saw the smallest one of them all and almost swore that she was looking into a
mirror that altered a few things, yet the face was also the same as hers. Other
than her sea blue eyes and dirt brown hair, they almost could have been twins.
Shaking her head, she turned her attention to the man Jamison and sat up.
"Please, dont sit up just yet. The doctor says that you need as much rest as
you can manage to get." The man named Jamison said with calm that made it look
like he could stare death in the face and still not flinch. She nodded and then
laid back down and Jamison continued "I am Commander Jamison, head of the
facility that you are in at the moment and these are the Space Knights. I assume
you already know Mr. Carter, Ms. Summers, and Mr. Richards. This man here is Mac
Mackelroy and his assistant, Maggie Matheson."
She felt a bit surprised when she saw the large fat man almost flinch
verbally and almost growl "Its Mac. Just Mac, how many times do I have to tell
people that." He said with a weak scottish accent.
Then she heard Jamison mention the name of the girl who almost looked like she
did.
Tina Corman.
She looked at the girl intently, other than her hair and eye color and size
difference, they were exactly identical. The girl almost jumped back when she
saw Shannons eyes almost pierce into her soul and find her darkest secrets, so
she stopped and began to stare at the foot of the bed as her brother knelt by
the head where she was and Jamison asked another question.
"What confuses me is that why you came to look for us after all this time. Why
is that Ms. Carter?" She turned to see his stone carved face, in the same place
it was before. Ignoring the earlier warning, she sat up and leaned against the
headboard.
"I came to warn you about Darkons plan. You know of the Teknopods that are now
only in the spore stages of growth, do you not?" she asked, getting a nod as a
response, and continued. "Within a matter of months, no more than a year, they
will begin to bloom and every sentient begin on the planet will soon be
converted to a TeknoBeing." She finished, her eyes boring into Jamisons almost
trying to test the mans willpower, but to her disdain, only everyone else began
to react with horror at what was to come. "In addition, he is preparing a
massive world-scale attack that even if you knew when and where theyd attack,
you wouldnt be able to stop him and decimate the remainder of Earths
defenses." Still Jamisons face still retained the hard edge that seemed to
always occupy his face.
While several of the people in the room almost started to panic, Jamison almost
requested calmly for everyones silence, and to her amazement, they all
complied. Then he turned to her and said with a voice laced with suspicion "Is
there anything else you wish to tell us, Ms. Carter?" She blinked several times
and then realized what he was getting at, he knew that there was something else
she wanted to say and he was going to find out what.
To the surprise of everyone there and her brothers, a small smirk streaked
across her face and looked to Jamison." Yes, there is. And I am going to
consider it my parting gift to humanity." Everyone looked at her with surprise
and continued, "I found out away how you will be able to equalize the tide of
this war" An uneasy silence followed and she said with a dark smile "The power
of the Teknos."
Several murmurs went around the room as she explained what she had discoevered.
"The Teknos was the name of the race where the Teknomen originally came from.
Darkon was a Teknoman at one time, but his ambition and greed drove him to fight
against his own people. He was defeated and before he could escape, his body
was destroyed, so he placed what little left of himself in that expedition
vessel and came to our system planets. Once he found us, he did his best to make
as many Teknomen as he could. The most he was able to make was 10, not including
Ness and myself. Once he takes our world and converts as many as humanity as he
can, he will return to where the rest of the Teknos is and defeat them in
revenge, and soon the rest of the universe will follow.
The Teknos were at one time, the defenders of countless worlds and races. Until
Darkon destroyed the once great legacy through deceit and lies, and the Teknos
became hated on most worlds. Very few could shelter them, as time moved, the
people of the Teknos dwindled and dwindled. Until their numbers became so few,
that their leader, Neigas, decided to assimilate only those who wished to be a
part of the Teknos, of the few races who didnt despise them. Darkon objected
and declared that they would attack all those who wouldnt bow to the might of
the Teknos. With the combined strength of the remaining Teknos, Darkon was
defeated. You know the rest."
They had all taken a seat as she explained her story. Once finished, Jamison
nodded and stood up. "This is all very intriguing Ms. Carter. But if you will,
please explain how you intend to help us?" The stares went from him to her as
she began to stand and speak weakly.
"Try having a few more Teknomen on your side and not Darkons," she snidely
commented and that was what finally got Jamisons defenses and his eyes got
wider than they usually would of and of course a collective gasp from the rest.
*************************************************
That night.
She walked out of her room and onto the balcony that was attached to her room
and looked to the sky. Remembering everything until that tragedy occurred, with
a smile. For a second, she wanted to see the future, of her, Ness, and Cain.
Together. Not as Teknomen facing each other, but as family. Playing on the beach
like they did as children. Laughing, talking, and living life.
Picking a star randomly, she looked toward it and spoke, even though no one
around was listening. "Please. Give me the strength to hold on until my job is
finished. Please." With that last plea, a tear rolled down her cheek. As she
walked back into her room and closed the door, that star that she prayed to,
seemed to twinkle brightly for a moment. Then returned to its original
brightness as if nothing happened, but something did and someone heard.
*************************************************
The next day.
She walked as fast as her weakened condition could let her, to the area behind
Jamison and her brother. The rest of the Space Knights had other things to do,
and she needed to see if they had enough of the materials necessary to create
more Earth-friendly Teknomen.
Opening the heavy metal doors, the room still had the same dark glow to it, the
same way Jamison showed Slade when he first arrived. 3 large tubes, located in
the center of the room, floating in a thick liquid to keep them afloat and
alive, from what they knew.
"Well, Ms. Carter. I believe this is what you wanted to see." Jamison said
gesturing to the three pod resting inside the chambers. She nodded and thanked
him for showing her this. Then, she walked up to the edge of the first tube and
placed her hand against it and closed her eyes. The pods inside the tubes were
indeed still alive, but being contained in the tubes made all three of them lost
and confused. They seemed to be more than just slavers, as what they were first
thought of, but beings with their own kind of intelligence. Their manner of
speaking made it known that all three thought as a collective.
"Who is this?"
"I am Dagger. A friend."
"Is us 3 where?"
"Here. On Earth."
"Earth. Planet blue and brown."
"Yes."
"Serve Master. Where Master?"
"You master is gone. You are far from him."
"What do we?"
"Serve me."
"Serve Dagger we will. Dagger want, what?"
"Sleep for now. I will return."
"Yes Master."
Breaking the contract, she turned to Slade and spoke to him and Jamison. "These
three will now serve me while I am alive. And while then, I will need your help
to make sure they mature before all the other pods, scattered across the earth.
I have a plan." After a few minutes of exposition, Jamison merely nodded and
began to walk out, barking orders to everyone within earshot. Once gone, Ness
turned to her.
"There was more wasnt there? I heard what you were saying to them." He
said with a small bit of either apprehension or confusion. No matter how hard
she tried, she never really could keep anything from her brother, she thought
smiling. Sighing, she looked up at him and answered.
"Yes. Not only are we going to make more Teknomen for Earth, I am also
planning to give you something of a gift. Think of it as a birthday present, a
little early maybe." She ended with a smile that seemed to rid him of all the
doubt he seemed to carry, walking to him, she embraced him gently. Well,
actually, she only could embrace him gently because of her weakened condition.
He embraced her back and time seemed to stand still for than moment alone.
Later, the pods were taken out of the tubes and with some mental
prodding from Shannon, was able to keep them down. Taken to the loading bay of
Pegas and the Blue Earth, they were laid out, with Shannon nearby to keep them
in line. Both maggie and Mac were working since the orders from Jamison came
like a tidal wave and were working feverishly to get the necessary chemicals to
help accelerate the growth of them all.
Mac was busy building a chamber that the remains of the Teknopods were
to be transferred to, so that they could make their own Teknomen with the aid of
Earth technology. In addition, he was modifying Pegas, so that they could
"Upgrade" Ness and make him stronger, because if she was right and Darkon did
release 3 more teknomen, they were going to need all the power they could
muster.
Maggie on the other hand was working with Shannon, changing some of
the genetic factors of the pods so that the change wouldnt alter their minds or
destroy them, like it did her father and those who didnt survive from the
Argos. Plus, it would enable the newer teknomen to stay that way much longer
than Slade. With no time limit, the tide of the war could easily turn.
"Now, are you sure this is going to work? I mean, this is the first
time that weve ever done something like this." Maggie Matheson asked worriedly
to her assistant. Shannon nodded and patted her should reassuringly and reminded
her about how she repaired Slades crystal, so she could do this. Looking up for
a short minute in thought, she then got the smile back and went back to her work
at an unbelievable pace. That, though, was typical of Maggie with her
enthusiasm.
The worked continued all day and halfway into the night, and once
Maggie had finally finished the numbers necessary for the conversion process to
take place, Mac had been waiting for about half an hour, waiting for the
go-ahead. "Ok Mac, were done on this end. How about you?" Maggie cried to Mac
down below.
"Waiting for you, ya slowpoke, I was thinking about taking a nap while
you were still working."
"Yeah yeah, real funny Mac. Now get those things in position, we got
ourselves some soldiers to make."
"Ok lass. Well be waiting."
Shannon shook her had at the unusual exchanged between them both,
thought nothing of it and went back to instructing the pods on what to do. The
pods had begun to decompose at an alarming rate, so they had to be put back into
tubes and with smaller tubes running into the newly made chamber and the
modified Pegas. Now, they were ready.
The transformation process would take at least a week, considering the
changes they made to the pods. It would stretch their human bodies to the limits
of their tolerances, multiply feelings and sensations of every kind. Including
pain. Unlike the Argos, the chances of the Teknosystem rejecting you would be
much less and you wouldnt end up as a small pile of genetic waste, youd still
be human. But the chance of dying was still there, as was losing your memories
and so much more. Hopefully, youd still be the same as you went in.
The chamber itself was a rather small affair. Looking like something
you would see about in those old stories about that Area 51, Shannon wondered if
they would be enough. But then realized that they didnt need pods to be
spherical, just make sure that the person would survive the changing process.
That was when it hit her. They needed someone to choose to be the
first Earth made Teknoman. Jamison was out, he was needed too much here at the
Command Center. The Mechanics were out, they were needed here. The only ones
left that were viable were the man Ringo, the women Star, and the child, Tina.
There was no time to check the rest of the people here, only one of the Space
Knights would do. She couldnt trust anyone that she couldnt see with such
power at their disposal, they didnt need another Saber, Gunnar, or Darkon.
Once the Space Knights and a few other personnel had gathered to the
meeting place, Mac and Maggie were explaining all the processes in detail on how
they were able to modify the teknopods, with the help of Shannon of course.
There was a feeling of excitement in the air and she Shannon hated to ruin the
intense feeling, but it had to be done. She turned to the group and spoke with a
deadly serious face and tone.
"There is one problem."
There was a general feeling of shock, after all this time, there was
something wrong.
"We need a volunteer to go through this. I have considered several people
and I have come to a conclusion of three people and only one will become a
Teknoman. Commander Jamison, it will be one of your Space Knights, I have
decided that one of these three will be more than enough."
Jamison nodded and replied by saying that she has his permission, just as
long as she has the permission of the volunteer. She nodded and looked to Star,
Ringo, and Tina. Spoke their names and asked them all to step forward. Doing so,
they stood in front of her, like soldiers to a commanding officer.
"You know that once you go into this, there will be no turning back. You
need to exert your will over the pods if you want to have the power they can
give, if not, youll end up like Saber and Gunnar, slaves to Darkon.. You will
be like Ness, myself, and the rest of my family. A changed human, but still
human nonetheless. If not, then there will be nothing left of you. You will be
taking on a huge responsibility, so I will train you myself until I can no
longer move." She paused for a minute and looked at their faces and found a
combination of surprise, fear, and reluctance. She continued "I will not force
any one of you three to do this. You must make that decision yourself."
An uneasy silence landed upon them all and lasted for several quiet
minutes.
Until someone spoke up. "Ill do it." The voice belonged to Tina Corman.
All eyes turned to her as she stepped forward. Some with admiration of her
courage, others with shock. Being young, no one thought that she would actually
sacrifice herself in that way. Her face was still showing the new found courage
and determination that she always seemed to keep hidden underneath a childish
demeanor. Several people asked her if she was crazy, and a few others asked her
if this was something she really wanted to do. She turned to them all and nodded
the affirmative to both questions.
Turning back to Shannon, she asked "Can I at least do something before I
go through with this?"
Shannons serious face softened and nodded, then replied "Please do. I
would feel better if you had no regrets about this."
She thanked Ness younger sister and ran to her room. After a half an
hour later, everyone was ready, only waiting for Tina. She ran back into the
loading bay, screaming her presence to be known. While back at her room,
everything was organized like it never was, and a note on the bed.
Dear everyone;
I guess you want to know why I am doing this. Its because I want to do more
than what I did before. I want to help more. It may sound stupid, but I felt
like I didnt do enough. So Im doing this. If I dont make it, I want you to
give the other letter I wrote, to the rest of my family. So that they wont hate
you for doing this to me. If all goes well, then dont worry about a thing.
Signed;
Tina Erika Corman
Back at the loading bay, she stood in front of the chamber now made for
her and then looked at the modified Pegas and saw Slade standing in front of it.
"Hey Slade. You nervous?" she asked her friend, who turned to look at her,
slightly startled.
"Uh...yeah,...I mean no.....I....I dont know." He said with
resignation. "Shara says that itll take about 2 hours for me to go through
this. I cant say the same about you though." He ended with a smile.
She actually let a giggle escape her mouth and a small exchange began
between them both, until it was interrupted by the sound of the remains of the
pods flowing into the chamber and Pegas. She wished him good luck and he to her.
Walking to the door of the chamber, she stepped through the door and it closed
slowly behind her. Slade jumped into the interlock chamber and it closed behind
him as it always did.
Slowly, the remains of the teknopods started to flood into both
chambers. The liquid was indeed hot, but not scolding, yet it felt the oozing
substance flow into their bodies and minds. The process had begun.
Authors notes:
{The same SD boy comes out again}
Ok, lets face it. There is probably not a single Teknoman or Tekkaman fanfic
out there. So, I took it upon myself to write this. What most people dont know
about Tekno/Tekkaman is that it has a better storyline than most commercial
anime out there and this was a TV series. Although the animation in it is not
exactly as goods as say Tenchi Muyo. It certainly has a better plot. Sure, its
pure sci-fi, but its GOOD sci-fi.
Sadly, we received it the wrong way and put a serious story on a kids network.
BIG mistake. They should have let the Sci-Fi channel take it, they probably
would have left in some of the things that UPN took out. Like certain scenes
which included blood and crucifixion of Shara Carter.
I also noticed another thing about it. It has the 1st male nude transform
sequence Ive ever seen. Ive seen ALOT of anime and I cant recall seeing a
single one of those. I guess one of the directors was a female otaku, I dont
know. I just noticed that after watching the shows that I copied off the tv for
the umpteenth time.
Shannon is the more logical name for the character Shara, than her original tv
name. It sounded better as a nickname and so I changed it to something more
logical, wouldnt you?
"HEY! Arent you supposed to be working on Lions Roar?" Chichi of DragonBall
screams, running toward our intrepid writer with murder in her eyes.
"Who cares? What about me and Soun-kun?" Ms. Hinako screams as she prepares her
Happo-5 yen-Satsu to drain our hero/fanfic writer.
The SD man from before, now un-SDed stares at the other two menacingly. This
is Slade, by the way. "Not till hes done with my story!"
Then Ayeka from TenchiMuyo comes out looking like a dark reflection of Tenchis
Light Hawk Wing suit, growling. "And what about the Dark Side? He has yet to
explain my power in that story!"
"EEEEEEEEEEK!" yells the fanfic writer as he runs into the distance, being
chased by his evil creations. "Boy do I steal ideas from Kat or what? Well, she
is my sister after all." the fanfic writer thinks to you as he runs into the
sunset.
