I think you need to explain why Nodoka can move in.  What is the opinion
of the producers of the show? I don't see Nodoka's presence as contributing
to the youth appeal.  What are the opinions of the minor deities who
selected the group? If Nodoka can move in, then why not any of Ranma's
fiancees, or Lum, or Mihoshi?  (By the way, what happened to the FFML
Mihoshi?)  Amazons in formfitting dresses, alien princesses in bikinis, or
ditzy space blondes would each be more likely to improve viewer ratings, at
least among men. 

  The fundamental problem, as I see it, is that this story doesn't have
that same whimsical light-hearted insanity that RpM has achieved in his
story.
