What I'm trying to get to is this: I'm thinking of writing a seperate

Kodachi side-story, set in the months she presumably spent in China, 
when she got her curse, and just how she became a 'Lemming Queen'. Why not 
set it up as a flashback, like usual? I just want to go into a bit more 
depth, make it as big or bigger than Chapter 6 was, and that's just getting 
too big for a flashback, in my opinion.<<

Well, there is this technique I've seen before. You could try to chop the large flashback into smaller segments and then place them at different points in the fic.
