Has anyone noticed the trend toward addressing major social issues?  
"Happi's Delight," "Never Too Old," and now "Bitter End" all address 
major social problems which face society.  I'm very interested in hearing 
from the authors regarding whether the drew inspiration from each other 
or not.  I am currently writing an issue into a fic of mine, but I had 
the idea planted into my head previously.  Is anyone else?

Well, two things happen
1) People write fanfics and put social issues in them
2) People write social issues stories and then cut-and-paste Ranma
characters into them.

I'm dead-set against the second.  I'm mostly against the first.
My fanfic, Love is What, is, in part, a rebellion against that sort of
thing...(Actually it's a rebellion against everything, but it's still just
a silly story about Ranma, Akane, Tatewaki and Kodachi (and 18 other
characters))

Hmm....for some, there's an element of "What can I do to shock everyone so
I'll get a big response".  I did that with "Transferrance" and I think
that there's an element in other people's stories also.
