Like I said, to be continued....
------------------------------------------------------

Chris finished putting on his blues, pinning his soaring solo
wings just above his left pocket. Then he zipped up his issue Athletic
jacket, the blue trapezoidal insignia of Cadet Squadron 16, the "Proud
Chickenhawks" catching the light creeping in through the window. With a
Cadet Forensics Association patch (read: debate) on his right shoulder and
the gold prop and wings on his flight cap, he walked out of his room. He
was worried. "Hed was already marching tours for sleeping through class,
I'd better make sure nothing else is going on, so he doesn't get in
anymore trouble."
I know, I'll find a freshman. They ought to have some clue what's
going on. Them calling minutes was the only thing that kept the
upperclassmen from being late anyway. But first, he thought, I have
enough time to actually shower and stuff in the morning for a change.
Then, changed and resplendent in blues he'd been wearing for almost a week
now, he walked out into the hall, and saw....Charlie-Four-Charlie Stahl,
one of the better 2000'ers in his squad.
"Hey Stahl, let me hear checkpoints."
Stahl shifted uncomfortably (understandable since he was standing
at attention, hey Stahl, get your shoulders up, back and down, chin in.)
(Thanks alot sir. Hey sir, what the hell does forensics have to
do with debate anyway?)
(Did say you could ask a question? I don't know. Anyway,
Recognition is only 10 days away, then you never have to fall in again)
"Sir, checkpoints for today are as follows, today's date 29 Feb
1997, the senior officer of the day is.... Sir I do not know."
"Uh, what? Stahl, you always know checkpoints, what's the
problem?"
"No excuse sir. Sir, there have been no announcements from
Operations Center, (frosh can't use contractions either!) and Electronic
Mail is not working."
"NOOOO! Do you realize what this means?"
"No sir." Oh boy, he knew what was coming, he was used to Cadet
DiNote's overacting.
"It means I can't read the FFML, or rec.arts.anime.creative!
That's what it means! No Undocumented Features, or Anime Defenders or any
of that!"
	"Gee sir I'm really sorry."
	"Waitaminute! What's today's date again?"
"Sir the answer is 29 Feb 1997." That sounded wrong to C4C Brian
Stahl even as he said it.
"There shouldn't BE a 29 Feb 1997. What day of the week is this?"
	"Sir I...haven't a friggin' clue."
"Hey Dino, I just realized something. Today's not Saturday, I
don't know what day it is." Hed was peeking out of the room squinting
without his glasses.
Dino "great scotted" What in the hell was happening?
"Hed, go find Jerm and Auger. I'm gonna see if anybody has a clue
what the deal is."
"Sir, do we have classes today?"
	"God I hope not."
(Sir, am I getting paid scale for appearing as an extra in a
stupid fanfic?)
(Yeah, sure ya do Stahl, go memorize group staff)
(Thank you sir may I have another)
"I'm gonna get to the bottom of this." With that, CHris, in pure
"Dino" mode turned on his heel and left the hall. The temperature dropped
a few degrees and the lights dimmed as he left.
Hed hated it when Chris did that. "Dino mode" meant that Chris
was pissed off, annoyed, both, or just into his South Philly tough guy
act. It reminded Hed of Hendry Hawk, THE Warner Bros. Chickenhawk from
those cartoons, he could remeber Dino starting quite a few fights "Are you
gonna come quietly, or do I have to muss ya up?" Thick, annoying
Philly/South Jersey accent and all. Not that Dino couldn't defend
himself, he was a good martial artist, but he always dragged Jerm, Auger
and himself in it too. Auger (Aka C3C Will Speck) didn't mind either, he
was a state champion boxer.
"Dammit, how the hell does he do that?"
	"With style sir, with style."

I'm using smaller chunks now so that people can read this, also, I'll be
using .txt format from now on too. Sorry for any inconvenience
