Well, I posted my tenchi story yesturday (Love's Labout Lost), and so far
I haven't heard a
peep out of anyone about it. didn't anyone read it? was it so mediocore
that no one felt the need to give me any feedback? come on... at least
someone tell me "it sucked" and why!
This was my first story, and this has been a pretty discouraging return on
it... how long does it usually take for feedback to come in? isn't that
what this list is for, giving authors some feedback on their work?
Aww, don't get discouraged. Just look at all the fanfics that got posted
every since the list got back up. I'm still trying to wade through all the
*April Fool* fanfics :)
Awww, was it _that_ bad?
I think I did read a couple of Tenchi fics back there (I finally rented it
once so I somewhat know the characters now). I can't really say if the
characters were in character or not. I do remember one of the Tenchi fics
was actually a teaser, and it had sparked my interest, but I ususally
reserve comments until the entire thing is written.
Don't give up yet, though. As long as no one is telling at you to stop,
post away to your heart's content.
And, from my perspective, even when they _do_ tell me to stop, I
write more, trying to stay in the line of the plot. I do this, as I
know that my story will eventually hit my standard of
light-heartedness that I've received so many good comments on. (see:
Alternate Landings) While people will tend to hate a badly-written
'fic, or maybe just a fic that has some _really_ bad scenes in it,
they do tend to come around when the story gets better. (I've only
seen one story that didn't get better: Paint it Black. I can
truthfully say that that is the only 'fic that I completely
despise...although my own Happi's Delight will hit that list as well
if I make it any darker:) (Oh, no! I plugged my own 'fic! Whatever
shall I do?:)
Now, as people will start to rag on me for spamming, I shall
discontinue my monologue.

All stressed out? Sometimes it helps to think of happy scenes. Maybe a pastoral field, a field
with a babbling brook. You're there on a lovely summer's day...holding someone's head under the
water. Now you're letting them up for a second. Then blam! Back into the freezing water! Over
and over again! There. Feel better?
