Stop being so hard on yourself.  This is really good stuff.  You gave a 
logical explanation as to why the family became what it became, and
logic is a rare commodity in original fics.  My hat is off to you.

I was expecting Ranma to have died while Ryu was much younger. 
Nabiki forcing herself upon him would seem wierd to him, but it would
be tolerated much more so than it would be had she started later on in
his life.  I guess I'll just have to wait and see where this is going.
