Out of curiosity what exactly would you compair Okonomiyaki too if

trying to give an example?  I've never seen one let alone tasted one.

deinition but i was wondering which is more acurate.

accurate comparison. Okonomiyaki is a dish made with a batter similar 
to pancake batter but often containing miso or some sort of broth, 
with bits of cooked meat and vegetable mixed into the batter, often 
topped with traditional garnishes and a sauce which varies depending 
on who the cook is (or so I've heard...ask Ichinohei-san about this 
one...) and I believe one can also place an egg on top of it? So 
there really isn't anything American or otherwise to compare it to. 
Except a really fancy pancake. Which doesn't quite fit.
