The Best Ranma Fanfic is The Callers Plight
I disagree. Respectfully.
Leaving aside the obligatory plug for my one qualifying fic 'Golden
Years'... }:-{D
... I'm currently in the process of re-reading all the stories which qualify
for this vote, and -so far- my current (but NOT FINAL- this isn't a vote)
choices are Rich Beauein's Natsumi the Magical Girl pt. 4, Scott Jamison's
Terminus, and You Say It's Her Birthday, the author of which I have forgotten.
All three are excellently written, fun to read, and at least within shouting
distance of the original spirit of Ranma 1/2, although for some reason it
seems American fanfic writers just don't have the same sense of insanity the
original has.
The above are, BTW, in order of preference, hi-low.
If anybody out there wants to try to pull an uneducated Redneck's vote,
though, feel free to send me your qualifying fics -it saves me time lugging
the remaining fics out of the raac archives. For anyone who cares, the
stories I still have under consideration are:
A Definite Change A Pond of Koi Afterlives
Alternative Reality Another Day Anything Can Happen
Black Roses Cheap Access to Space Coff-EZ
Easy Prey Half a Conversation Hello Again
Here's Uma I am a Part I Have a Problem
Inner Conflict Insomnia Iron Roses
Jackpot Kasumi, What's Wrong? Let the Wind Blow
Life and Manhood Little Ducks Love is Never Easy
Obsession One Bad Day Orange
Parallel Lines Perchance to Dream Peter's Journey
Powerless Ranko's Heart Reality 1/2
Saishu no Wakare She Knows? Silly Spring Spree
Sweet Dreams Tendou's Time that Comes Dragon Comb
The Least One Can Do Phantom Prankster The Sign
Time of Changes The Visit Through Uncolored Glasses
To Find a Drowned Human To Win is to Lose Trapped
(yes, it's a lot, but a lot of these I did't see the -first- time around,
and the rest I didn't keep in memory for whatever reason, so I need to
reread them to compare quality. I take voting very seriously. }:-{D )
Now returning you to your regularly scheduled incredible heaps of messages...)
