Not only *can* you, you're almost obligated to.  On Valentine's Day, at
least, a girl gives chocolates to her male friends and the boy/s she's
fond of.  But she also gives some to her boss, or her male teacher, or
male coworkers, or basically anyone male and in a social hierarchy around
or above her.  These are called 'giri choco' - 'obligatory chocolates,'
basically.  I'm not sure about White Day, but the practice might be
similar.
