Love is What Frightens You The Most

Well, this is the part in which I tell you all about this.  
What is it?  Well, I'm trying to do everything...It's an 
alternate-beginnings story.  Most of the alternate-beginnings 
stories tend to retell the first few videos.  This is 
convenient, because everyone knows it.  I'm going to try to 
retell some of the more obscure stories.  I admit that I have 
not seen several of these stories.  This doesn't mean that it's
all from the manga/anime.  A good bit of it is my own.
 
The title?  Well, it's a song by Robyn Hitchcock.  The song is 
great, but it was never released.  He's performed it live once 
or twice.  Don't worry if you've never heard the song.  It's 
not really central to the story.  Some of the alternate titles 
I had considered included "Meant for You" and "Catch the 
Wind".  "Catch the Wind" is a song by Donovan, and it's the 
ultimate in acoustic wistfulness.  Unfortunately, my last fic 
was "Let the Wind Blow" and some other guy whose name I have 
unfortunately forgotten has a fic called "Chasing the Wind".  
There shouldn't be too many wind-fics out there, so that one 
was out.
 
The characters?  Well, they all appear in the anime.  None of 
the characters are author creations.  I know that most people 
around here dislike new characters.  These are all copyright
