Anything extra?  Actually, I've always been a bit confused by 
fanfic formating... I write as I see it written in books: an indent at 
the beginning of each paragraph, and only a blank line between paragraphs 
that aren't connected (like in a change of POV).  However, lots of 
fanfics I see skip the indent, and skip a line between each and every 
paragraph.  Just curious as to why.

It's not just fanfics; it has to do a lot with text files on computer
systems in general, and how different systems/programs store them.  Then 
again, both conventions can be found in traditional typing training.  Both
are equally correct in the right context, and in the case of fanfics,
they're the right context for both.  The best rule of thumb is, whatever
improves readability for you and your audience.  I find that block
paragraphs separated by a blank line are much more readable in general
than indented ones without a blank.  This may be because I read things
singlespaced on my monitor, almost exclusively.  Printed, especially
doublespaced, blank lines separating paragraphs look excessively large,
and an indent is sufficient marker.

So, does that help at all, or have I helplessly muddied the issue?  <grin>
