partly entertainment---take care in reading this.
Upon first joining the list, you will have one given infraction
available to you. After that, you get to test how much patience
WhiteWolf might happen to have at any given time. Although sometimes
lenient, I wouldn't count on it.
=====
1. A greeting message may be posted as your first message, indicating
that you are new to the list. You may state your name, nickname, a web
page address, and even an email address so which we can warn you about
doing something stupid if we feel the need.
subsection-A-:Depending on WhiteWolf, this may count as your one given
infraction.
2. At no time may you post a test message to see if your mail is getting
through. WhiteWolf would warn us of anything wrong with
Fanfic@fanfic.com should anything be amiss.
corollary:: You may not post a message to see if you are still on the
list. If you haven't gotten any mail, your server may just be slow. If
you send a test message after a dry spell, then you still won't get it
until after your server catches up. Better to just check with WhiteWolf.
WhiteWolf would most likely answer redundant questions than deal with
server wasting test messages(not to mention the tedious process of
removing the poster of a test message from the list).
subsection-A-: you may post a test message if you cleverly disguise it
as a question or a comment to the list--it may take some time to be
creative, but it may save your subscription. The more involving, the
less likely anyone is to notice it's a test.
3. At no time may you complain of excessive mail. Get off the list if
you don't like mail.
subsection-a-: you may complain freely about any spam at any time to
anyone, however you are likely to cause even more spam. see below
4. Whenever possible, you will avoid posting a 'Looking for this Story'
message. You should contact the author first, then the archive system.
corollary::If you are unable to locate the Author's name, or figure out
how to work the archive, then you may begin complaining to individuals
to see if they have it laying around.
subsection-a-: If all else fails, you may post a looking for message at
your own risk. Expect 5 messages containing whatever you may be looking
for and at least 5 flames from other subscribers about chewing up their
valuable mail space.
subsection-b-: a blow up from WhiteWolf may be eminent.
5.Reguarding SPAM---Spam is a fact of any mailing list because at least
one eighth of any mailing list will have attention deficit disorder and
will be compelled to go off on tangents of certain message depending on
whatever they happen to be thinking about. The following SPAM is
considered
<UNNACCEPTABLE>
a. Anything out of the blue that has little or nothing to do with Anime,
manga, Fanfiction, or Japan.
b. Anything regarding current events. I.e. OJ Trial, Starwars re
release, Kun-Chan's newest psychotically spawned idea, or your bad day,
or your mail server.
c. Anything pertaining to, or bearing similarity to a 'ME TOO!' message
==
The following Spam will always eventually resurface::
a. Anything having to do with Kun-chans wordings of anything she's ever
written.
b. Vocabulary problems.
c. Drinking game additions.
d. Slams to any other author on the list. or see -a-
WARNING REGUARDING ALL SPAM: Never, EVER be the person on the end of a
thread, for you will be hanging by a thread literally. You will be one
of the two remembered for the spam thread.
Subsection regarding SPAM---Anyone at any time may complain to any one
about any existing SPAM thread with no remorse or mercy, to stop the
thread in its tracks. Excessive flaming is tolerable and even expected,
but a fine line exists for you to find yourself.
Subsection corollary A ---If you make any insults or references, you are
likely to have started another thread for which you may be flamed for.
subsection corollary B ---if the complainer is WhiteWolf, consider
yourself screwed, run for your life, and hide in a hole in the ground
quickly.
