aaaactually....

public C&C, to me, is a nice thing.  I mean, it serves several purposes.
1) Make more people aware of the stuf I'm writing.  A selfish
   reason, but hey. :)
2) A reasonable way to determine whether or not I should bother
   reading a fic in the first place.  Let's face it, alot of us
   don't have the time to read everything that's sent up.  Public
   C&C is a fair indicator of what to expect out of a story, or
   whether or not it's worth the trouble to fix those stupid
   spacing, margin, and format errors because beyond that there
   MIGHT be a great story.  It's like an advertisement for a fic,
   actually, better than that, if the C&C is nice enough.
