I'm kinda keen on this one.
2- Choices. This one I thought of doing during the 'What if
Ranma got Pregnant?' debate on the FFML a few months back. Be damn tough
to write, and probably not a happy fic. However, after 'Thy Outward
Part', and 'Serendipity', I'm not entirely sure it's worth persuing...
Probably not. Since the majority of this list has read "Serendipity" or at
least some part of TOP, you're fic has some high, recently defined,
expectations to live up to. If you really like the idea, though, let it sit
for a while and work on some other small projects in the meantime. Nothing
wrong with waiting...
3- An epic! One of those whopping huge, plot-driven, intricate,
action-filled Ranma stories, inspired by fanfics such as 'Hearts of Ice'
and the sequel to 'Ranma Goes to War', who's name I can't quite remember
at this time... I've got a basic plot outline, and plan on drawing in
various elements from Nephilim, the Cthulu mythos, Arthurian romances,
and whatever else seems interesting or surfaces in my school classes.
As long as none of your classes are teaching assembly language, I'm willing to
give it a chance. [MIPS is frying my tiny brain!!! :(]
BTW, the sequel to "Ranma Goes to War" is J. Austin Wilde's "Chasing the
Wind".
4- Anybody else got a nifty idea?
Hmmmm, you've got a psychological exploration, an unconventional idea, and an
action-adventure with a healthy dash of crossovers. Nope. I think you've
just about covered everything! Unless you want to write a lemon... ;)
Or something non-Ranma, maybe?
As for the three ideas you have so far...
In my humble opinion, I say you write #1 and put #3 on queue. #1 doesn't need
to be overly long, and I can honestly see it treated as a short 2-3 chapter
story, or maybe even a one-shot deal. If, however, you'd prefer a very
detailed exploration of your characters for #1, or if you think you've had it
with all the psycho-analytical stories running around and would rather do #3,
then you might as well devote all your efforts to it.
IMHO, of course. In the end, it's you that has the final say, and it's you
that's going to have to decide: #1, #2, #3, or none.
