Heh... Lemon goddess? Pomegranate goddess?
okay...
Lemon- after Cream Lemon (anime anthology series, IIRC, all with heavy
sexual content) or after Lemon People Magazine (H manga which featured,
among other things, Bondage Fairies).
Yes, I know that ...
Pomegranates (sic- don't eat 'em, can't spell 'em) do not confer
godhood.
Persephone, daughter of Demeter the Goddess of Fertility, was kidnapped
by Hades and taken to the Realm of the Dead. After denying fertility to
the earth in her sadness, Demeter is finally given permission to
retrieve her daughter, -provided- that her daughter has eaten nothing in
the Realm of the Dead in the meantime.
As it turns out, Demeter gets to Hades' palace just in time for
Persephone to take a bite out of a pomegranate (grown by the Hades
Citrus and Pomegranate Grower's Association). She swallows six seeds,
and Zeus decreed that Persephone shall live in Hades' realm a month of
the year for each seed swallowed. Thus we have the seasons; spring and
summer when Persephone lives with her mother, and fall and winter when
she's slumming it with Hades.
Did this help at -all?-
*shrug* I don't really care about Greek/Roman myths... they're all just
copies of each other!
Kun-chan...
