I used to respond to every piece of email I got.  That ended up taking
up way too much of my time.  I'd rather spend my time writing stories. 
     I think I'd rather you spend your time writing stories. Even
really sad ones.

So I eventually degraded to only writing back when I needed
clarification of a particular piece of C&C.
     I know I've been guilty of not replying to C&C, but I try to put
forth the same sort of effort the C&C-er did. If he/she just wrote a
"nice story"/"what a crappy story", I'll probably say "thanks" or "oh,
what was wrong?" but that's it.
     However, if someone writes a long, in-depth C&C, I'll try to 
address his/her points.
     Now, "Transitions" might make this impossible, given the number of
people responding to the story, but maybe you could've taken part in
the postings to the list and turned it into a discussion. It's just an
idea.
