Well, here's what I've done:

I used to respond to every piece of email I got.  That ended up taking
up way too much of my time.  I'd rather spend my time writing stories. 
:)

So I eventually degraded to only writing back when I needed
clarification of a particular piece of C&C.

How long does it take to hit the reply button and type "thanks for your
comments" ?
