Here we go, Chapter 14 of the fanfic "Hunter & Prey."  This one is titled
"Vendetta."  It is by far the longest chapter in this fanfiction so far.  I
was pretty impressed with myself since pretty much the whole chapter here
involves fight scene.  I never thought I would be able to write that.  It's
pretty energy-consuming, I must admit, although not as hard as writing Yaoi.
Chapter 15 of "Hunter & Prey" is almost done and I might post it tonight if
I feel up to it.  Constructive C & C are welcome.  This chapter here is
still a bit tentative, I may still make some changes on it.  Have fun reading.

HUNTER AND PREY
Ch 14 Vendetta

	*This is it...* Sonoma looked at three youkais who were about thirty feet
away from him.  *The three who killed my brother and the three who ...* He
shook his head to clear of the horrible images and memories of that
afternoon.  He paused for a minute, and then continued to walk steadily
toward the three youkais.  That was the day of his revenge, it was a year
before Sonoma and Yukon met each other.

	"Hahaha...yeah.  Did you hear how that bitch screamed?  I enjoyed every
minute of it.  Hahaha..." Laughed one of the youkais.

	"Damn right!  We should do this more often!"  Remarked the other youkai as
he turned toward their leader. "What do you say?"

	"Of course," the leader snickered.  "where there are pretty women and
riches, we are sure to be there.  That was one beauty huh?"

	"Yeah...hahaha..." Laughed the first youkai.  "hey, passed me that food
there!  Come on, get the fire going, it's getting cold!"

	Suddenly the fire went out as a bucket full of water was pour on it.

	"Hey, what the fuck are you doing?!" Exclaimed the first youkai. "You're
going to pay for it, you bastard!"

	The youkai's murderous expression then softened to that of pure lust as he
saw their intruder's face.  "Why, why, aren't we in luck tonight.  Another
beauty coming our way.  Hahaha..."

	"Yeah, come'ere.  No need to be afraid," remarked the other drunkenly.

	"You two impotents shut up!!" Yelled the leader. "I'm the leader...I get it
first.  Come here baby!" He beckoned to Sonoma.

	Sonoma smiled coolly and remained where he was.  He reached behind his head
and untied his hair.  His long hair then came tumbling down.  

	"You want me?" He asked.  "You, come here."

	"Aw...playing hard to get!" said one of the youkais.  "We'll get you all
right, bitch!"  He then got up and ran toward Sonoma.  Sonoma step aside and
tripped the youkai.

	"Hey you bitch!  What the fuck are you doing?!" He shrieked.

	"I just tripped you," Sonoma remarked.  "you gotta be better than that."

	The other youkai growled and rushed toward Sonoma.  Sonoma ducked, grabbed
the youkai's arm, threw the youkai over his shoulder and sent him flying
through air.

	"Next." 

	"Well, I see that you are a stubborn, rude, little thing," said the leader.
"you don't know who you're dealing with here."

	"I think I know pretty well," Sonoma replied.  He smiled and walked toward
the leader.  He put his arms on the leaders shoulders and leaned toward him.
He then bit down hard on the leader's ear, drawing blood.

	"Aagh!" Cried out the leader in pain. "What are you doing you bitch?!!"

	"Who are you calling bitches here?" Sonoma asked coolly. "Are you referring
to yourself?"
	
	"I'm going to teach you a lesson!" Screamed the leader.  He started
attacking Sonoma as the other two youkais joined him.

	"We'll see..." Sonoma said silently.  He disappeared in front of the three
youkai and reappeared behind them.  The three youkais were surprised at his
speed but soon recovered from shock and started attacking Sonoma again.  One
of them tried to throw a hard punch at Sonoma, the other pulled out his
knife while the leader started to gathered up his youki to attack.

	*Three S-class youkais... Three DRUNK youkais...* Sonoma mused. *Good.*

	He jumped and did a spin kick.  The kick sent two of the youkais flying
into the trees.  Sonoma turned around in time to see the leader attacked
with lightening speed.  He blocked the punch and kicked the leader in the
head.  The leader wiped the blood from his nose and sneered.

	"You think your little tricks can hurt us?" The leader said angrily. "You
are WRONG."

	The three youkais then lined up and gathered their youki together.  A
kekkai formed around them as their energy level started to increase.
Finally the energy gathered into a fire ball of enormous power.  Then, they
fired.

	Sonoma leaped as the fireball came his way.  However, he didn't expect the
energy to change trajectory and follow him.  He landed on the ground and
jumped away at the fireball.  The three youkais used this as a good
opportunity to further their attacks.  They sent another attack after Sonoma
and then lashed out at him from three different directions.

	Sonoma avoided the first youkai's punch and did a back flip to avoid the
first fireball.  He then leaped high into the air and avoided the second
fireball.  The second youkai appeared behind him and brought down his fists.
It hit Sonoma squarely on the back of his neck and sent him crashing toward
the ground.  The two fireballs then followed their targets and hit Sonoma
separately.  Sonoma gasped in pain and felt blood trickling out of his
mouth.  One of the youkai reached him and kicked him hard in the ribs while
the other one grabbed his hair and yanked his head back.

	"So...the little jerk ain't doing so well now, are you?"  Said the leader.
He then striked Sonoma acrossed the face and laughed.  "I say we teach this
brat a good lesson.  It's a shame to let a beautiful merchandise to go
untouched."

	Sonoma remained silent.  He hadn't expect the other youkai to appear behind
him.  But then, that was the same cause for his brother's death.  Ryuma
hadn't anticipated the other youkai to appear behind him during that time
either.  He had been confident that he could take on the three youkais at
once since his youki had greatly incresed after the transplant of the
third-eye.  However, it seemed at the moment that his plan was not going as
he had wanted.  It seemed that he had overestimated his power too much.  He
knew that if he died, there would be no one to carry him back to the village
and give him a proper burial.  He was banned from the village two weeks ago,
right after he had recovered from the "damage."  But he knew that deep
inside, he would never recover.

	"Hey...doesn't this brat look familiar?" Asked one of the youkais.

	"Now that you mentioned it," exclaimed the other youkai. "...sure does look
familiar.

	"Well, what do you know?" Taunted the leader as he remembered Sonoma. "This
is the human that we've feasted on a month ago.  Obviously he hasn't had
enough of our hospitalities.  Hahaha..."  With that, the rest of the youkais
laughed with him.  The leader leaned close to Sonoma and kissed him hard.
His tongue forced its way into Sonoma's mouth.  Sonoma's teeth instantly
clamped on it.

	"Ow!" Yelped the leader.  "Why you ...!!!  I'll show you what happens when
you resist me!  I'm going to send you to hell just like I had toward that
bastard brother of yours!!"

	*Bastard brother?  Ryuma!*  Then, something in Sonoma snapped.  He felt his
third eye opening and then he heard the two youkais holding him crying out
in pain.  The leader stared in surprise as Sonoma's third eye glowed in the
darkness of the Makai forest.

	One of the youkais ran toward Sonoma with a sword.  Sonoma turned his head
and glared at him.  An invisible force then sent the youkai crashing into
the walls of a cliff.  Another youkai attempted to attack Sonoma from behind
but instead Sonoma grabbed his arm as he brought down the sword.  The youkai
gasped in surprised and then screamed in agony as his wrist bone was snapped
with a sharp sound of 'crack'.  Sonoma then flunged him aside like a ragdoll.

	The leader charged.  He gathered up his youki and started firing.  However,
his attacks did little damage on Sonoma as they all seemed to disintegrate
before reaching the intended target.  Sonoma lifted one of his finger and
pointed at the leader.  A beam of energy then shot out and made its way
toward him.  The S-class youkai threw himself away from the path of the
attack and ran to his followers' side.  They then again gathered up their
youki and this time, they brought their youki up to the highest level.  The
birds and other animals in the Makai forest felt the impending danger and
strong youki.  They quickly ran for cover as the youki continued to rise.
Meanwhile, the ground has started shaking.

	Sonoma thought to himself and smiled. *I ... like the sound of that.*

	The combined attack came toward Sonoma at full speed.  The energy had been
so great that it knocked the three youkais who had produced it backwards.
The attack broke Sonoma's kekkai and flew toward Sonoma.  Sonoma blocked it
and was hurled backward.  His boots scraped against the Makai ground as the
energy of three S-class youkais continued to ram its way through Sonoma.
Again the three youkais saw it as a good chance to attack Sonoma.  They
again attacked him from three different directions, this time at full speed.

	Sonoma pushed against the energy and with some more youki, he disintegrated
the attack.  The huge energy ball suddenly faded into nothingness.  He then
brought up his kekkai again as the three youkais attacked.  They were again
flunged away by the power surrounding the kekkai.

	"Shit!" Cursed the leader.  "How the fuck did he get so powerful in two
weeks?!"

	The three youkais again got up and attacked again.  They knew, for the
first time, of Sonoma's intention.  They were frightened, frightened by the
immensity of the power hidden within this human.  It was then that they
realized that somehow, the human they had defiled weeks ago was no longer
the same creature.  He was now a youkai with the power of several upper
level S-class youkais.

	Sharp jagged rocks suddenly rised out of the ground as the youkais charged
toward Sonoma.  One of the rocks pierced through the first youkai's shoulder
while the other youkai had been pierced at the waist.  The leader avoided
most of the rocks but then got caught on one of the larger rocks which had
suddenly raised under him.

	Seeing that the three youkais had been caught, Sonoma dropped his kekkai
and walked slowly toward the three youkais.  He stopped by the youkai who
had been pierced by the rock on the shoulder.  Sonoma lifted his hand and
the rock sank back into the earth.  The youkai panted in pain and
exhaustion.  Sonoma then turned to the remaining two youkais and did the
same.  He knew that he now had them at his mercies.

	"Please...please don't hurt us!" Begged one of the youkais.  "What do you
want?  We'll get it for you!!"

	"Yes, he's right and I'm the leader.  I would do it too." Said the leader
in a frenzy. "I...I would repay you.  Just please don't kill us."

	Sonoma eyed them and then turned around and walked away.  The three youkais
remained silent for a minute and then suddenly got up and charged toward
Sonoma again.

	"Die!" They cried.

	Sonoma spun around and frowned.  He held out his arms and sent a blast of
energy toward the three youkais.  They crashed into the wall of the cliff.
Sonoma then sent another energy beam after them.  One of the energy beam hit
the first youkai in the head.  He cried out in pain as his eyeballs came
rolling out of his eyes.  The second youkai cried out almost at the same
time as his ears and two arms were cut off.  Black blood came streaming out
of the newly made wounds.  The leader growled and attempted to block
Sonoma's attack.  Instead he was cut into two halves by the waist.  He
screamed in agony and fright as he saw his lower body being separated from
the upper body.  The blood of the three youkais came merging together in a
grotesque color as their body parts rolled on to the forest ground.  They
now moaned softly among themselves.

	Sonoma turned away and picked up a bag filled with jewels and gold.  The
three youkais had previously robbed a village and gathered up the goods.
Sonoma opened the bag and looked inside at the contents.  He then closed it
and slung it over his shoulder.  He went back to the youkais again.

	"You three are not even worth the trouble of killing," he said coldly. "you
three deserve much more than death.  You have NO idea how much pain and
suffering you've cost me and my tribe and who knows how many others.

	"If you are lucky, you may make it out of the forest alive," he continued.
"That is assuming that you don't lose too much blood or get eaten up by
other youkais and Makai creatures.  Now I leave you all.  And I wish you all
to rot here and suffer a painful death."

	Sonoma then turned around to leave.  Out of the corner of his eyes, he
could see several Makai creatures gathering near the youkais, ready to feast.

	"Aa..Ah!! Help us please!!" Begged the three youkais.  Sonoma ignored them.
He could hear behind him, the screams of the youkais as they were being torn
apart and eaten by the Makai creatures.  Sonoma continued walking until he
reached the village which he surmised was the one plundered by the three
youkais.  He knocked on the gate, dropped the sack at the entrance and left.
