I've been seeing a lot of alternifics lately. I love them, quite
frankly. But Ranma always seems to have a gender curse, or else
a curse that still lets him (or, if it's Ranko, her) keep an
humanoid form(personality or age curses, for example). This is,
of course, understandable, since the gender curse of Ranma is
the pivoting plot point of the series.

But what if Ranma was cursed as an animal? More importantly, what
if he was cursed as the thing he fears most, as a cat? Would he
start acting like a cat whenever he switched to his cursed form,
much as he does with the Neko-ken? Would he just be the usual
Takahashi cursed animal type, acting like P-chan or Shampoo-Neko,
since being a cat might condition him to his fear? Would the first
meeting with the Tendo's be something like:

  "Engaged?" Kasumi asked.

  "That's right." Soun answered, with a humourous twinkle in his eyes.

  "Hmph." Akane humphed. "Boys."

  "Hey, don't knock him yet sis." Nabiki murmered. "He might be cute."

  The Tendos raised their heads as they heard a clattering from outside.

  "Perhaps that's them now." Soun said excitedly.

  Soun rushed outside, with Nabiki(who was eager to see the 'cute boy') not
  far behind. Kasumi followed, and Akane brought up the rear, muttering to
  herself.

  "Are these friends of yours, father?" Akane heard Kasumi ask as she
  dragged her feet on the trip outside.

  "Um... no?" Soun tried.

  Curious at the conversation, Akane started to walk at a decent pace, and
  within seconds she was next to her sisters. The other Tendos were staring
  at a large panda. Somehow, Akane got the impression that the panda was
  embarassed at something.

  "How did a panda get..." Akane started, before she felt something rub
  against her legs. She looked down, and stared into the steely grey eyes
  of a small black cat. The cat looked at her with a typical 'I don't care
  about anything because I am a cat' expression, before it meowed.

  "I guess it wasn't Genma..." Soun said to himself. He was so caught up
  in his own disappointment that he didn't notice the panda fidget a bit
  at this. "I wonder who these animals belong to..."

Seriousfic, or comedyfic. Well, with me it's usually both. Should I
write it? I don't think I've seen it done. Any comments?
