I'm considering several things when reading fanfics. Mostly its
just simply the efort someone put into it, you can always tell

I just ran across one of those, but I'd rather not name names.
Why not?

Forgive me for going off on a rant here, but people post fanfics on this
ML to get *exactly* that kind of feedback. They *want* you to name
names.
If you read something, and it causes you to have that kind of
reaction...
LET THE WRITER KNOW!!!
That's what the FFML is for, for crying out loud. That's why people ask
you to read their works, to find out your reactions to it.
No one's going to get better as a writer if those who had comments to
make never made them.
So don't hold back. Let 'em know.
I *always* have "Comments and Criticism Welcome!" at the beginning of my
stories. I *mean* it. I want to know if you hate it, and why you do.
I'm sure most other people here have exactly the same desire. And if
they don't, if they want to hear only positive things and yell at you
for saying negative things, they shouldn't bother posting to the FFML in
the first place. :)
Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. :)
