Okay floks.. Finally had this done after weeks of intensive rest and
relaxation... I hope you enjoyed reading my story and that you won't think
of this fic to be an otakufic like some had so blatantly pointed out. The
characters here that are not Ranma 1/2 and Sailormoon in origin may or may
not be my original creations.
Radler is my created character. One that can be termed as a
character of convinience.. He keeps the story rolling. He may portray some
traits of mine but then again, who said that Rumiko did not embody some
traits of hers to Ranma and co?
Well, it appears i'm rambling..
So, here it is, Chapter 10.. Set after the fight in the Tendo Dojo
with Rei....
C&C are most welcome.. I know it does.... give me a mail on

CHAPTER TEN
Several weeks after the incident of that night….
Everything around Nerima – specifically around the Tendo Dojo – looked
normal. Nothing to give credence to the apocalyptic fight that had been
waged in the Tendo yard.
The sun shone brightly. The skies were a light blue and totally cloudless;
allowing those with Jusenkyo curses to breath a sigh of relief. At least the
margin for getting wet went down a few notches.
Ryouga was most grateful for the weather.
"Does anyone know where the Tendo Dojo is located?" he asked no one in
particular as he headed on a southerly heading. Had he chosen to walk in the
previous direction he was walking, he’d have stumbled across the dojo’s
front gates. But such was Ryouga’s sense of direction.
* * * * *
A heavy object fell onto her. She winced; hating the person responsible for
waking her up so early in the morning. She slowly and grumpily opened her
eyes; wishing all the while that she had left when she had the chance. A
pink-haired, pigtailed little girl near the age of ten sat atop her, her
eyes twinkling with wry amusement. She did not fail to notice the other girl
with her. A brown-haired girl older by Chibi by no more than a year or two.
The other girl chided Chibi for waking her up so.
"Time to go to school, Tia." she declared in a loud voice. The woman who
lay on the bed noticed that Chibi seemed getting used to calling her that.
"We don't want to be late again! The principal's gonna come after you again
with that pair of shears of his if you do."
Tia resisted the urge to ruffle the girl's hair. "Get off of me you little
brat so I can change clothes already."
"Hai!" she told him cheerfully.
"Come on, Chibi," asked the other girl, "Let's leave her alone for now."
"Better hurry, onechan," the girl tells her, "Kasumi-onechan got a feast
for breakfast today."
Tia's moody disposition brightened at this. Kasumi's delicacies always had
that effect on her. She loosened herself form her stranglehold of the futon
and less moodily dressed for school.
* * * * *
Tia walked down the stairs, savoring the sweet aroma of fresh morning air
and the scents of heavenly delights coming from the kitchen. She restrained
herself from drooling like some underfed mongrel and promptly strode towards
the now newly refurbished Tendo living room.
Lucky for the Tendos that Nabiki had decided to secure a sizable insurance
policy since Ranma had first trashed the dojo. The policy covered a lot of
things including damaged incurred by unnatural causes. It was quite an
expensive package considering the added bit of unnatural causes but right
now, it certainly had paid off.
Tia smiled as she remembered just how big the insurance inspector’s jaw
dropped when the people they hired to review the dojo gave a report on what
had caused the incident.
They certainly had a heart attack from it.
Thus, the insurance company was forced to cough up quite a bit of yen to
cover the cost.
That; however, was not the end of it. The Tendo dojo was deemed by the
engineer’s office as a total write off. Repairing it would do little good.
The best option had been to start from the ground up if it was to be made
safe for human occupation. The cost was more than twice the amount the
insurance company was forced to pay.
Soun Tendo bewailed on how they were supposed to secure that kind of cash.
That was where Chibi came in. In gratitude for the help they did in
protecting her, she cast some spell with the help of her moon scepter to
repair the old dojo back to its original glory – albeit with a few
alterations.
How, was best left unsaid. Tia did not want to trouble herself with the how
of it.
The Tendo dojo now rose majestically above its neighboring houses. It
boasted of another floor, a plush interior, and elegant living
accommodations – courtesy of the cash that had been intended to pay for the
repairs. And what was left was given over to some bank to draw interest.
Tia wondered if Soun knew that half of that ‘supposed’ savings was missing
and were now being used by Nabiki in her gamble in the stock market. Of
course, she had to hand it to her, Nabiki was the best she had ever seen
play *THAT* particular sort of game. Even better than old Ami-chan was.
Tia’s train of thoughts were interrupted she heard a loud splash in the
direction of the gardens where Ranma and Genma did their ritual
before-breakfast practice. These practices usually ended up with either or
both suitably wet and changed. Tia entered the living room and seated
herself on a large floor pillow on the open porch to await the fruits of
Kasumi's cooking. Ranma entered, all wet with water dripping down on the
varnished floor, face wearing a tired expression.
"I think I'll go take a bath before Kasumi's done with the cooking." she
told everyone before proceeding to said place.
A dirty-looking panda entered the room with a large bruise on his head that
glowed red. Mizuki took little heed of her father's 'written' pain since she
was used to this after having stayed in the Tendo dojo for almost a few
months now. Soun managed it all with his usual pre-hysteria calmness while
Akane, who had just finished her morning jogging, blinked. And doing it
cutely too with those cute, little squishing sounds.
"I hate mornings." wrote Genma grumpily on his trusty wooden signboard.
Soun just nodded and continued reading the papers. Akane positioned herself
on her usual place on the table as she waited for her older sister to return
with breakfast. She noticed Tia (a.k.a.: Radler) sitting on the porch steps
deep in deep thought. Akane could not help wonder why Radler chose to stay
in his female half. She gasped as said person looked back at her. For some
reason, Akane felt as if the woman could read her thoughts. Tia gives her a
sad smile and returned to her musing.
A peal of laughter startled everyone as two figures came crashing through
the doorway nearly plowing through an encumbered Kasumi.
"Hi, Kasumi-onechan!" greeted Chibi.
"Good morning, big sister!" cried Mizuki in her usual greeting.
"Hello there you two." She gave the two her winning smile. She entered the
room and began setting down steaming plates of rice and noodles. Mouths
watered; stomachs growled in anticipation. Ranma arrived just in time as
everyone proceeded to dig in. Tia grabbed her share as Ranma and his father
fought once more over their share. Akane did her usual best not to lose her
temper at him. Both Mizuki and Chibi took it in stride. Kasumi smiled as
good-naturedly as usual at the two commenting on their seemingly
inexhaustible energy.
"Maybe we should send for Miss Hinako." commented Akane from her seat.
"Did anyone mention my name?" Miss Hinako asked, popping up in the gardens.
Everyone in the room fell flat on the ground while Kasumi does her usual act
of innocence of the world.
"How did you get here?" Ranma asked curiously.
"I was just passing by and decided to drop by to check on three of my
students. When no one answered the doorbell, well…
Everyone else knew what that meant.
Those at the table silently grumbled at having another person -- even if it
is Hinako-sensei -- at the table. At the rate these visits seem to occur,
one would certainly think the Tendo’s would need to dramatically enlarge the
living room to accommodate their frequent guests. Chibi had not altered the
dojo’s design in any way when she rebuilt it. One would not hesitate to ask
that reinforced materials be used for this undertaking – considering the
kind of visitors the Tendo’s attract every so often.
That plan was not far off from being made a reality. They certainly needed
the space!
* * * * *
At school, the usual mob of female-hungry (not to mention date-hungry) young
males converged upon Tia who immediately disposed of them by bashing them
all into the ground. Ranma and Akane looked at each other and gave twin
shrugs as they remembered a time when these things happened to them as well.
Tia wore a very furious look and muttered something in an unknown dialect.
Tia stalks towards her class, fire in her eyes.
Tia could almost KILL whoever went and posted that accursed bulletin. If it
had not been for that particular news, this would not be happening!
"Had she been a cat, she'd probably be lashing her tail like nuts!"
observed Akane
"Come on, Akane, stop daydreaming about yourself already!" told Ranma in an
offhand sort of way. "You aren't built enough to move like her you know."
Akane took that as a direct insult and demanded in a loud voice what he
meant by that. ( She now normally asked that sort of question before she
bashed Ranma these days) Ranma jumped back, expecting Akane to pounce on him
or do something with that mallet of hers. Lucky enough, the warning bell
struck, saving Ranma from harm's way. Akane 'humped!' towards class while
Ranma brought up the rear at a safe distance. Upon entering class, they met
up with Hiroshi and Hikaru Diasuke who updated them on the current gossips
in school. Tia sat nearby with Ukyou. Both seemed highly engaged in
conversation.
"...Ranma. Did you hear about the transfer students from Shinonome High
School and some school in Kyoto?" asked Diasuke.
"Yeah, Ranma They're supposed to fill up the gaps in our school after the
principal decided to go on his shaving spree amongst the freshmen group."
Hiroshi added excitedly, handing Ranma and Akane a copy of the Furinkan
Journal. Both Akane and Ranma gazed at the group that came from Shinonome
High. They then direct their attention to the three female transfer students
from Kyoto High.
"Seems regular enough folks to me." commented a rather disinterested Ranma
Saotome.
"What!" cried Diasuke, enrage at Ranma's words. "There are six pretty young
women coming to our school, you moron! Six! Enough for any of us unattached
people to drool over." Both eyed the woman who stood near the window. "At
the very least, they won't beat us up like she does." Diasuke remarked,
shifting one thumb to point at Tia. "Even Akane had been nicer when she beat
us up."
"I heard that." came the amused reply.
Ranma noticed both his friends sweating rather visibly.
"How the heck do you live with such a woman, Ranma?" asked Hiroshi
curiously. Ranma strained to hear the whispered question. "How?"
"Well, you just have to get used to it like I do, Hiroshi." answered Ranma.
"Much like I'm used to having unexpected visits from strangers ready to kill
me or Akane's cooking for that matter."
"R_ a_ n_ m _a!" cried a glowering Akane, mallet in hand and ready to pound
on her fiancé.
Every noise in class was silenced as everyone looked at them both. Luck
seemed to be in Ranma's favor this time as Miss Hinako entered the room in
time to alleviate certain disaster. Three new students, whom the class
presumed to be those transferees Hiroshi and Daisuke mentioned earlier,
entered along with one little adult/girl.
"Hello, class!" Hinako-sensei greeted in her usual cheerful way. "Well
today, I have with me three transfer students whom have been assigned to
this class. I hope that you'll behave and treat them well. Any questions?"
She saw a student raising his hand.
"Are we still required to shave ourselves bald like what Principal Kuno
announced during opening ceremonies?" he asked.
"How are we supposed to deal with the old lecher this time, Hinako-sensei?"
a female student asked, obviously.
A lot more females voiced out their grievances. These being mostly aimed at
a particular old pervert. Hinako-sensei had that large tear drop on her
head while the newcomers offered looks of surprise and disbelief.
Hinako-sensei had enough.
"Okay, class. Now, if all of you have finished goofing around, I'll begin
introducing you all to your new classmates. " She turned to the three new
students and motions for them to take the floor. "Please introduce
yourselves to the class. A bit of history would also be appreciated." she added.
The first student, a blue-haired woman with piercing blue eyes spoke up.
"My name is Ifurita Mizuhara. I'm eighteen and just transferred here form
Shinonome High. I do hope that this place would be as exciting as my other
alma mater had been."
"She doesn't know the half of it." whispered a student to his seatmate.
"She looks cool." stated another one.
"Wonder if she has a boyfriend." Another asked out loud.
Ifurita blushed and ceded the floor to her brown-haired companion. "My name
is Makoto Mizuhara from Shinonome High. Well, there isn't much to say about
myself. I look forward to working with all of you."
"Must be a nerd." commented a female student at the back.
"A cute nerd, you mean." corrected the woman in front of her.
"Makoto?! Isn't that supposed to be a girl's name?"
"Actually, no. Many people tend to use that name often to name a male or
female." explained another girl.
" Isn’t that the name of one of those women who used to study here.
Remember? That tall woman. If I remember it correctly, she sort of
transferred to Tokyo after beating up the whole kendo class. Before Ranma
ever came?" Supplied another student.
"Hmmmm. Yeah, I remember. The one that Kuno-sempai had a crush over?"
"Yep."
"Do you have a girlfriend?" a student in the front row asked.
Ifurita bristled with jealousy at this. She certainly did not want Makoto
to fall for anyone else. Clearly, she needed to do something about this. "A
girlfriend, no." she answered the young woman’s question. Ifurita locked an
arms around Makoto’s waist. She then looked at Makoto before she gazed at
the others in class. "A fiancée, yes."
Makoto found it hard not to blush in embarrassment.
Everyone else began talking about this sudden news. Many a number of male
students sighed wondering if they were cursed to be all alone.
"Class!" scolded Ms. Hinako. She inclined her head to Makoto to make way
for the next speaker.
The last student was a wavy blonde young woman with piercing blue eyes. She
introduced herself as Lydia Shinuzaki. Ranma blinked as no comments were
made by the class regarding the new student. He glanced around to see the
male class population enthralled by the innocent beauty of the woman in front.
Her speech was a lengthy one that consumed the entire subject as well as
consuming the male half of the class with grief and remorse for this
unfortunate soul who had suffered much. Ranma, however; found it hard to
swallow everything. He craned his neck out to see Tia's expression. Tia met
his gaze and gave him a silent answer. Like him, Tia did not believe all she
had heard.
Call it paranoid but with what he was dealing with right now, being a
paranoid was a far better condition that being dead.
He looked at Akane and sighed. Akane swallowed the whole thing up. The
other two new students wore twin looks of understanding as well. It seemed
as if only Tia and him were the only ones not sympathizing with the woman.
Ranma felt that things were already starting to get a bit hot. With the
defeat of one of the ShadowMoon's warriors, Tia had warned them all of
attacks that would be bound to happen. The only problem was, she did not
know how or when they would try.
Every day he, Akane, and the others trained hard with Tia, trying to learn
a few new techniques to boost their abilities. Ryouga had somehow gotten
lost even with the enchanted amulet with him. He chucked it up as some sort
of ability Ryouga seemed to have.
Chibi did not believe this and often wondered how the amulet wasn’t
affecting Ryouga as it should. Even the worst possible person who tend to do
get lost should have little trouble if they possessed that amulet.
Ranma sighed.
Things around Nerima was too quite even for him. A part of him broadcasted
threat warnings and similar things to him. This was the reason for the
edginess he felt. Something was bound to happen. What this may be was
driving him up the wall with worry.
Akane was far from being a better fighter but seemed to be learning – if
rather slow. Mousse and Shampoo seemed to have absorbed the training quite
well but it was only him and Ryouga who seemed to have mastered enough to
learn a few special techniques. But he knew both were far from being adept
at using and controlling their added abilities.
Now, even with Time on their side, things were far from being good.
Somehow, Ranma felt that they needed every martial artist to help fend off
the Shadow Moon until Chibi managed to come of age.
What that meant, Tia chose to be closed mouth about it. Even Chibiusa was
reclutant to say anything about it. One thing was certain, this event was
somehow important and Ranma felt that this would a time the Shadow Moon
would choose to stop.
Problem was: When?
====================
That ends Chapter 10.
