Why do I write? Well, when I first started reading fanfiction
(sometime late last October), it really intrigued me. Then I got a few
ideas--<hey, what if Mousse started acting this way>--and "Mousse, Version
2.0" was born. I wondered what would happen if some of my ideas about
relationships were exposed to the Ranma cast--and "Visiting Nerima" popped
out. I wondered if there could be a person crazy enough to fall for
Kodachi--and...you get the idea.
But what _keeps_ me writing is when people tell me that "Visiting
Nerima" has been one of the few fics recently that was actually kind of
funny, that if I tweaked Shiro a bit this way the story would play out
better, that "Life and Manhood" was one of the few to get into a certain
reader's permanent collection.... It's the feedback (both positive
comments and constructive C&C) that keeps me going here. If no one reads
my stuff, I get frustrated and discouraged. (Of course, alternately, if
I'm in my weird moods, my angst instead buoys me up and gets me to write
more.)
And what keeps me from writing at the moment is this damned
writer's block. Fortunately, it seems to be breaking, finally.
