I have to agree with this. (In my case it's *not* because I'm looking
for reviews of my own work. I haven't written anything recently.)
It seems to be common for fanfiction reviewers to concentrate mainly (or
*only*) on works by already popular authors. While this gives a
well-deserved ego boost to these authors, it isn't what I read reviews
for. When I read a review, I'm hoping the reviewer can tell me about
what I might have missed, authors who I am not yet familiar with. A
review of an unknown author's first fic can be a great help in my
deciding whether that author's writing is to my taste or not.
I'm not saying that popular authors shouldn't have their works reviewed;
they should. But IMHO it would be a lot more beneficial to me, the
reader, if you and other reviewers would throw in some reviews to tell
me about some authors who I don't know about yet.
