Ranma looks much like who? Ranko Tendo (and all those Rankos in
fanfics, no matter how they were created/born) is Ranma's cursed form.

Herb looked different. So if you are dipped into SotD Girl you turn into a
female version of yourself.

Like someone said, "Rumiko made the pools work as however they were needed
in the story." Something
