               General disclaimer et. all

     "RANMA YOU JERK!!!!!"

     SSSSPPPPPLLLLLLAAASSSSSHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

As Akane stormed off, Ranma pulled herself out of the pool. "Stupid
tomboy. What she do _that_ for??"

"Well, gee, Ranma, could it have been the uncute remark?" Nabiki asked.
"Or maybe the one about not being able to cook. Or maybe how you always let
Shampoo maul all over you?"

"Oh sure, like I even have a choice in the matter!"

For poor Ranma, this was just a typical day in the Tendo household and,
as usual, the hot water was ready for her. She poured the water and
instantly changed back to a male, just as Shampoo jumped him yet again this
morning, handing him a towel.

"Now pervert girl gone, we go on date, yes?" begged the purple-haired one.

"Can't I even get to school first without all this??" Ranma pleaded.
Why me, he thought. If it wasn't for the old man, I could just have a normal
life. Ranma glanced over and saw a giant panda bear playing with a tire.
Ranma fumed as he escaped Shampoo's grip and dumped the rest of the water
over it. "Could you at least wait 'til I've left before looking like such a
fool?"

Genma got up and tossed his toy out into the yard. "Ya know my boy, you
shouldn't knock it til you've tried it." With that, Ranma punched his father
and sent him flying into the cool water of the pool.

"Breakfast is ready," announced Kasumi with a smile. "Are you joining
us, Shampoo?"

"Ai-yah!" Shampoo exclaimed. "Shampoo stay and feed Ranma breakfast"

With that, Ranma grabbed his stuff and headed for the door where Akane
was waiting. "I...uhhh...have to be...uhh..going to school or I'll be late."

"You know you could have stayed," grumbled Akane on the way to school.
"I'm sure you and Shampoo could have a wonderful time"

Ranma walked along the top of the fence. "No way! I'd much rather put
up with high school than have her all over me. It's not like you have to be
jealous all the time, ya know."

"JEALOUS?!?! Hmph! There's nothing to be jealous about!" At that point,
Akane tried to ignore Ranma. She didn't want Shampoo or Ukyou or anybody
else to be all over him like that. He was her fiancee and she just wanted
them all to keep their mitts off of him. She knew how she felt, but maybe if
he wasn't such a jerk, she thought to herself, maybe it would be easier. But
expressing
her feelings was something she didn't know how to do.

The rest of the walk to school was quiet as Ranma hopped off the fence
and walked alongside. He wished he knew of some way to tell her he didn't
want Shampoo around; only wanted to hold her tight, but just when it seems
like everything is going good, she has to act like a tomboy and ruin
everything. Ranma liked it best when Akane smiled. When she did, he felt his
heart pounding and legs turn to jelly and boy, was she ever cute then.

                    *****

"Akane Akane!!" It was Akane's good friend Kondo. "You have got to see
the new transfer student. He's sooooooooo cute!!"

Most mornings, Akane would meet up with Kondo before classes started in
study hall. She almost always had her nose in a book, which helped her
become a straight A student, so Akane knew something was special about this
guy to have her out and acting so crazy. "Okay okay, Kondo, I'm coming. So
where is he?"

Kondo dragged Akane, Ranma a couple steps behind, to the field where a
crowd of young ladies had gathered in a circle around someone neither Ranma
nor Akane had ever seen before."Isn't he cute??" Kondo kept going on. "And
he's an older guy too, 20 years' old!!"

Akane just stared at him. He was a good six feet tall and well built
but had sort of a glazed look on his face. Even still, he was very cute.
Just then, he glanced over and saw Akane. The stranger walked up to her and
smiled "Hello, my pretty flower. My name is Hodaka; what might yours be?"

Akane just stood there for a second before she realized it was her he
was talking to. "A...Akane, Akane Tendo." He took her hand and kissed it
gently. Dear Akane nearly passed out until Ranma took her hand away from him
and held it himself. "Oh brother," he sighed.

Hodaka just looked at Ranma. "And I suppose you must be Ranma Saotome.
I've already heard about you, you and your exploits with other women. At
first I was rather looking forward to meeting you, but now that I've seen
your beautiful fiancee, it just makes me wonder why you would ever risk
losing her."

"Look," Ranma started, "Whatever you've heard, it's all lies. And worry
over losing a tomboy like Akane? HA! She'll be lucky to ever get a husband!!"

The next thing Hodaka saw was Akane's fist where Ranma's face used to
be a loud crash in the fence, where that fist sent Ranma flying. Hodaka just
smiled. "Beautiful and strong. A very rare combination indeed."

Akane stood there blushing and not knowing what to say but then the
bell rang to start classes and off everyone went with Hodaka walking very
close to Akane.

Ranma peeled himself off the fence, all banged up muttering "She is
_so_ uncute!!!"

                    *****

After the day's classes were through, Akane and Ranma started their
walk back home. Ranma was still sore about how Akane had acted around the
new student when Hodaka called out to Akane. She turned around and Ranma
just growled to himself.

"May I have the honor of walking you home, dear Akane?" Hodaka asked as
he caught up with the pair.

Akane wasn't too sure how to respond. She was with Ranma and, even
though Ranma always found a way to ruin it, she did enjoy the going home
with him, ever hoping maybe one of these times she could tell him how she
really felt. But at the same time, she didn't want to be rude to Hodaka.
Plus, he was _really_ cute!! "Well, I don't see why not." She smiled. Hodaka
smiled.
Ranma growled some more.

"I suppose that's if Ranma here doesn't mind," the new boy asked
looking at Ranma.

"What do _I_ care who this tomboy hangs around with," Ranma replied,
getting nailed by Akane at the same time, landing hard into a wall.

Hodaka watched Ranma hit the wall, then back at Akane and smiled. "You
two certainly don't act like you're to be married."

"It wasn't our choice!! Our parents decided for us. I'd just as well
forget he even existed!!!"

"That's too bad. And a girl as lovely as you could have any guy she so
desired. It's too bad you have to be with someone you don't even love."
Hodaka took Akane's books for her as she sort of looked away and blushed
lightly, not letting him see.

Meanwhile, Ranma had started up again, following a few steps behind and
even more angry. And his gut told him to watch out for Hodaka, though he had
no idea why, besides the fact he was hitting on _his_ fiancee!!

By the time they all made it back to the dojo, Akane and Hodaka were
laughing and having fun, making Ranma even more mad. Why couldn't he and
Akane be like that when they walked together.

"I hope we can do this more often," said Hodaka before he left. "I
really enjoy your company." Then he kissed her hand before giving back her
books and leaving. Akane blushed a bright red. "See ya," she managed to get
out and walked inside, smiling.

Ranma saw this and he was furious. Once was bad enough but again?!?!
No!! And she was letting him! That was even worse. He stormed into the
house, past Akane, and upstairs to his room.

                    *****

"Ranma!! Who was that strange guy with Akane???" It was Ryoga.

Great, thought Ranma, just what I need now. "What's it to you,
bacon-breathe?"

"Somebody else flirting with the love of my life? It's bad enough you
have to keep her away from me, but I won't stand to have anyone else get in
the way too!"

     "Yeah well I'm not overly crazy about it either. I dunno who he is;
some transfer student. All the girls were cooing over him today. He looked
so spaced out too." Ranma still had a bad feeling about him.

Ryoga was none-too-happy about this. "Well what are you going to do
about it, Ranma?"

"Me??? What do I care what or who that uncute tomboy...."

Ranma was cut off and the next thing he knew, he was in the pool
outside. He looked up to see Akane fuming, staring back at him.

"A...A..Akane. It's, uhh, so nice to, ahh, see you again," Ryoga
stuttered out.

Akane had heard what Ranma was saying, well, trying to say, and came in
and punched him hard out of the window. She felt a little better now and
lightly smiled at Ryoga. "Hello Ryoga."

Ranma pulled herself out of the pool and jumped up to her window sill
and sat on it. "What'cha go and do that for?"

Akane crossed her arms and stuck her nose up away from him. "I don't
suppose you've seen P-chan anywhere? I can't find him anywhere."

As he poured some hot water over himself (he had a little put away in
his room for such an occasion) and came back to normal, Ranma said, "Yeah,
he's right here," and looked at Ryoga, who decided to be careful and punched
Ranma sending him flying back into the pool. Can't let her know the truth
just yet, he thought to himself.

"Well, if you're not going to help, Ranma, forget it!" Akane yelled at
him and left to go to her own room. Ranma again got to his window, only this
time he jumped into his room, not wanting to chance it again.

"Keep it up, pig boy, and I may just tell her who her wittle
piggy-wiggy is!" he growled at Ryoga and then picked him up and threw him
out of the window. "Damn, now I have to get a bath." Ranma left his room not
noticing that he sent Ryoga into the pool and became P-Chan.

                    *****

Half an hour later, and a lot of amazing luck, P-Chan made it to
Akane's room. It must be love, he thought to himself and scratched at her door.

Akane recognized the sound from her door and jumped up to let her pet
into her room and she gave him a big hug, pressing him close to her chest.
Akane could never figure out how a pig could have so many nosebleeds. Oh
well, she was happy because now she could talk to her special confidant; the
one thing she always talked to when she needed to talk. Maybe if Ranma
wasn't such a fool all the time, she would talk to him. But at least P-Chan
always listened to her and never critized. She lied in bed petting the pig.

"Oh P-Chan, I met the most wonderful guy at school today. He's really
cute. He's kind and considerate and polite; nothing like Ranma, the jerk!"
She started daydreaming about Hodaka and didn't notice Ryoga get angrier and
angrier by the word.

"I can't wait to see him tomorrow but...." She sighed. Oh why couldn't
Ranma be more like him. She knew she loved Ranma but didn't think he even
really liked her much. But Hodaka, she knew he liked her. She could be the
envy of all the girls in school if she was with him. And he only gave her
that special look, not one of the other girls got it, she thought back.

Akane started to doze off. Ryoga took this chance to sneak off and find
some hot water. Now where did the bathroom get to. Maybe it's this way......

                    *****

In another part of town, which may as well have been another part of
the world, Hodaka was sitting on a chair with Kondo on his lap.

"I really like you alot," Hodaka was saying, "But if you really like
me, you have some of this." He was trying to hand her something not unlike a
cigarette.

Kondo just stared at it, unsure of what to do. She really did like him
and he said he liked her. She knew it was wrong, but she had a chance to
finally have a boyfriend. It wasn't that she was ugly, but she spent so much
time with school work, she just never really socialized much. Now was a
chance. But this was something she thought she'd never waste her time doing.
She was smarter than that. But.....

She sighed. "Alright." She took the joint and took a deep haul off of it.

Hodaka smiled, already feeling the effects of the drug.

                    *****
