Heinlein did something like that in The Number of the Beast. A good read,
especialy if you like crossovers.
Which is, of course, just a special case of the 'Many Worlds'
interpretation of Quantum Mechanics - which more than saying that every
*fictional* world really exists somewhere, says every *possible* (no
matter how improbable) world exists. So there is a world where everything
is exactly the same, except I didn't write this message. And one where the
only difference is that I actually finished this sen...
