Here is a sincere apology from me. I went back to read the fic and I found
a lot of errors. I did some revisions and made some changes. I hope it is
better now. Again, constructive C & C are definitely welcome. Enjoy.
Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. Have fun.

SLEEPER
Part I The Awakening

*Interesting...dead things being brought back to life* He flipped through
the pages rapidly, his eyes never missing a single word. *Now I know why
those humans will go through the trouble of straining their eyes on these
things.*

"Reading? Why, I am surprised, Hiei."

He looked up abruptly and stare into the pair of gleaming green eyes.

"Hn! Isn't that what you do all the time?"

Kurama smiled back at him and pull up a chair to sit down. "Yes. What are
you reading?"

"Some stupid book on bringing stupid things back to life...It's the dumbest
thing I've ever read."

"You wouldn't be reading so ardently if it's stupid for you. You didn't
even hear me coming." Kurama said.

"......Just shut up and let me read that damn book!"

"Heh, stubborn little youkai you are."

Hiei returned that remark with his best glare. Kurama didn't return the
book to him, instead he took it to the corner of the room and started to
read it himself.

*Why does he always do that?* Hiei thought.

"Hm...sometimes a dead being can be brought back to life..." Kurama read
aloud. "... upon unusual circumstances that usually involves a...Hey!"

Hiei snatched the book away from him and took off.

"Hiei! I'm suppose to do a report on that!"

"Hn! You were the one who took it from me first." Hiei snickered as he
stood on the branch outside Kurama's room.

"Hiei, I'm serious. I need the book." Kurama said. "This is not funny."

A smile slowly spread across Hiei's face. "Hn. Come and get it, Kurama."

The surprised look on the red-hair youth's face was enough to convince the
fire spirit that the effort was worth it. For Hiei, it had been one of the
funnest thing to catch Kurama off guard.

*All right...you asked for it, Koorime.*

Branches around Hiei suddenly came to life as they tried to wrapped
themselves around him. Hiei turned around in time and bounced off the
branch on to the other one.

"Too slow, fox." He taunted, holding up the book. "Do you still want this?"

*I can't believe this...* Kurama jumped out of the window and chased after
Hiei.

Hiei flitted from tree to tree, avoiding Kurama's traps as he slashed one
branch after another. He looked behind him and smiled to himself.

	*Good. This is pretty fun.*

	"Hiei!"

Kurama knew that he couldn't catch up with Hiei, obviously Hiei was in an
extrememly good mood to play this game with him. Unfortunately, he was not
in the mood to play right now.

Hiei stopped at a clearing and turned around.

	"What?"

"What do you mean WHAT?" Hiei asked.

	"Why did you stop?"

"I thought you want your so-call book." Hiei replied. "Well...come and get
it or I might just burn it."

	"You wouldn't dare, Hiei."

"Try me." Fire swirled up from his hand.

*Oh crap! What is he getting at?*

"Stop it Hiei! I'm serious. What do you want?"

*This is going very well. Not bad for me, being a first-timer on this
subject...* Hiei thought. *Shit! I hope I don't embarass myself when I
found that he has no feeling for me...*

Hiei disappeared and reappeared in front of Kurama. His left hand held the
book behind him so that Kurama couldn't reach. His right hand reached up
and ran his fingers through Kurama's hair.

*What...* Kurama was surprised. *What is he doing? What has he been eating
lately...?*

Hiei tipped his toes and leaned toward Kurama. Kurama closed his eyes
expecting that he was finally going to get what he had always dreamed of
from Hiei. Then he felt Hiei paused, his lips a hair breath away from
Kurama's. Kurama was about to opened his eyes when Hiei threw himself on him.

*What! I didn't expect him to move that fast!*

	"Hiei..."

	"Stay down!" Hiei ordered.

Then things started to explode around them.

*Shit! Almost. So close yet so far away...* Hiei thought in dismay.

Hiei rolled off Kurama and unsheathed his sword. A long-hair man who
dressed in black appeared before him. Hiei charged.

Kurama got up and saw their attacker. He was stunned.

*I thought I killed him...* Kurama thought. *I can't believe this.
It's...it's Ka...Ka..rasu...*
