  A suggestion, rent the movie "the Funeral" by Juzo Itami. It isn't as funny
to westerners as some of his other movies (Tampopo, Minbo no onna, A Taxing
Woman) The cerimony depicted is supposed to be a traditional Buddist
ceremony. I can't speak for its accuracy, but it does have a high amount of
detail.
