Subject: To authors who want more C&C

A lot of people have posted messages lately lamenting the lack of
comments on their work. Personally, I feel the same way.

That's why I've come up with a proposal. I think the problem would be
solved if as writers we each adopted the following simple policy:

C&C UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM C&C UNTO YOU!

It's simple, really. Figure out what kind of responses you would like
to get on your story. For example, let's say you decide you are hoping
for one detailed analysis of your story, plus five general appraisals.
Go ye forth into your recent backlog of other peoples' fics and find
six of whatever type appeal to you. Do a detailed analysis of one and
general appraisals of the other five, and mail them off!

The above should be adjusted for size, I would think; an analysis of
one long fic ought to be worth two short ones; but I digress.

Think about it: If everybody did this, then on the average, people
would have the C&C they need! Not to mention the fact that non-writers
will hopefully be commenting as well. We could have a veritable
symphony of C&C!

Think about it, will you, won't you?
