INTRO:
Author's Notes: Yes, YET ANOTHER SM fanfic. ^_^ This is set after Stars,
making a basic assumption that everyone lives (I haven't seen the last
four episodes of SM yet, so PLEASE don't mail me and tell me if they DON'T
make it, I don't want to know.) The writing style of this story, like my
previous, ill-fated earlier work, SM Ace, is composed as if it were a
synopsis of an imaginary series, which only exists in my deranged mind.
(grin)

At first, I was toying with the notion of rereleasing Ace, but various
reasons, including the fact that it all would seem HIGHLY redundant now in
the face of Stars, has prompted me to launch into "Millenium" instead.
Further passages will follow whenever I have the time/inclination to
continue the writing.

Mistakes were made in the past. People grow, people change, partnerships
die. It has not been without pain and soul-searching that I chose to
return to the world of SM fanfic- an often ungrateful and demanding world.
Yet, with the end of the series now a given fact, I found myself wanting
to tell a story again, in the world that I have grown to love deeply over
five years.

Once more, for the road...

After the opening credits are done:

A voice of a woman speaks, over the background of a large ornate clock,
whose hands move slowly around the dial. We hear the pervasive sound of
the clock, like a grandfather clock throughout the entire scene and a
subtle ticking layered below that. The woman's voice sounds oddly familiar
(at least, to those viewers who've seen the entire SM series and have long
memories). "The Millenium came, the 2000th year of man heralded by the
fighters of Chaos. The glorious power of the Chaos Millenium now rules
over all things great and small. For a thousand years since we have
controlled the world!"

We see still frames of three figures, leaping forward powerfully through
one of Juban's streets, surrounded by black magical energies.

*tick, tick, tick*

We see more still frames: these three figures battling the Sailor Senshi,
and gaining the upper hand. Even with the help of the alien Starlights and
the full complement of all four Outer Senshi, Sailor Moon is simply
overwhelmed. We see the destruction of the Eternal Tier.

*tick, tick, tick*

We see the city of Tokyo darkened, blood-colored sky, hideous monsters
roaming the streets among shattered buildings. Everything is coated by a
thick layer of dark crystal or ice. We can see people trapped within/below
the ice, with anguished expressions.

*tick, tick, tick*

Closing in on a patch of the ice, we see the shapes of the frozen Senshi
in brief closeups of each girl, punctuated by the white flashes and clock
tones. The positions of the Senshi suggest that the freeze was
instantaneous.. and very painful. We see the Inner Senshi frozen trying to
shield Sailor Moon, Uranus and Neptune slammed against a wall of a
building, crystallized before they could fall and together even in death.
Saturn (chibi) holding her Glaive over her head, attempting the Silence
Block. The Sailor Starlights crying out in terror, struggling to reach the
other Senshi. All the Senshi look battered, hair out of place, bruised.
The final shot is of an eerily calm-looking Pluto, who hugs her staff to
herself, with her eyes closed as if she were merely sleeping.

The woman's voice laughs. "No one escaped the power of the fighters of
Chaos!" The clock sound fades out under her laughter.. leaving the sound
of clicking clock ticks... which continue and grow louder as this opening
scene fades to black.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wind blows over the dead Tokyo. We pan over the frozen Senshi again,
and come to rest on the form of Pluto, so frighteningly peaceful looking.
With a small quiet sound, her Garnet Orb begins to flicker to life, and
glow. The glow becomes brighter, surrounding Pluto with a red aura. A
crack appears in the crystal before her, small, but swiftly growing.
As the Talisman continues to glow, the crystal surrounding Pluto shatters
and she falls senselessly to the ground, staff clattering down with her.

The light of the Talisman fades, and Pluto lies facedown in the street,
the wind howling and whipping her hair around. Several seconds of silence
before her hand twitches over the concrete, and she begins to stir.
She grabs for the staff and uses it to get to her feet, leaning on it
as a walking cane.

She murmurs a thanks to her Talisman and weakly staggers a few steps
forward, coughing, looking at the world numbly. She whispers, "Dark
Tokyo... the seat of the power of Chaos.." and looks at the black crystal
palace dominating the city. She narrows her eyes, and sees a vision of
Crystal Tokyo, the city that SHOULD have been here in this time and place.

She turns with her staff and looks at the other frozen Senshi silently.
Her face has an expression that could be both sorrow and resignation, and
is as unreadable as ever. She is obviously and visibly exhausted however.
She straightens her stance and holds the staff before her, thinking to
herself: "I must return to the past and warn the princess. Time has been
corrupted. This is my duty." The Orb begins to light again, and she begins
to shine with its power...then three voices scream out of the emptiness
around her:

"Victory Conquering Crusade!"
"Glory Hallelujah Caress!"
"Triumph Flame Everlasting!"

Three bright-colored attacks tear out of three different directions and
spiral toward Pluto, who jerks her head up and barely manages to dodge
the three powers. She cries out in shock as the three silhouettes jump and
land around her in a triangle. "You?!"

One of the figures, a girl, speaks. "You can't escape this fate, Pluto."
The second, also female, with a higher voice, nods. "Stop resisting. The
change of time must affect even you!"
The third, a boy's voice, says, "Oi, Pluto. Thinking of going back
in time to warn your friends? You did it before, and it didn't work then
either. You can not break the cycle of the Millenium. This is the TRUE
FUTURE of the world!"

Pluto gasps in horror..."No..!" She shifts her staff into a fighting
position and glances from one to the other of the figures surrounding her.
But they just laugh at her, seeing her weakness.

Pluto and the three stare each other down...

**CM BREAK**

We return, to see Pluto still surrounded by the three figures.
Pluto narrows her eyes again. "Time can never be forced into one path.
Time can never be locked into one place. Not even the Chaos can direct
time's flow."

The boy sneers. "Is that so?" and gestures at Pluto with one hand,
blasting her with a yellow flame. Pluto holds up her staff quickly and the
flame parts around her, narrowly singing the other two female figures, who
yelp. "WATCH IT!"

Pluto smiles darkly. "Time is patient, but even that patience runs dry,
young man." (She looks REALLY cool as she says this.)

The boy leaps at Pluto, and the fight starts. Pluto flips into the attack
animation (VERY COOL) for "Wicked Air" and BLASTS the boy back off her.
The two girls jump her, but she whips her staff around and drives them
back. She gasps in pain from her effort, thinks frantically that she
daren't do another attack, or she won't have the power to return to the
past..

She spins around and breaks into a run. The two girls try to help the boy,
who cries loudly from pain, (like a little kid) but he yells at them.
"Split up! Find her!" so they peel off and shoot through the streets
quickly.

A long, nervewracking chase on foot follows. Pluto begins to run out of
strength and starts to stumble as she runs, while the two in pursuit seem
to have endless energy. It ends when one of the girls' attacks blasts
Pluto in the legs, knocking her down. Her staff spins out of her hand and
out of reach. Before she can rise up, the two girls surround her and start
BLASTING her with their power, making her scream in anguish. A crystal
wall begins to form around Pluto's body...

Still frame again on Pluto's panicked face while the energy blasts her...
"My mission... I HAVE to perform my mission!" She doubles in on herself,
curling up fetally as the crystal starts to envelop her, and the two
girls just laugh softly and keep blasting. But before the crystal can
fully close on her, Pluto's body turns into a pulse of red light,
spiraling into itself and vanishing. (!)

The two girls shout loudly, shocked and unprepared for Pluto's
disappearance. "NO FAIR!!!" they both yell. But the boy-figure comes up
behind them, holding the Time Staff in his hands. "It doesn't matter.
Without this, she's powerless. And we can use it to follow her back.
We'll make sure the change of time happens the way it should."

He powerfully wrenches the Talisman free of the staff, and throws the
staff away. The two girls nod and turn toward him.

The scene fades.

Usagi-chan, Minako, Rei, Makoto, and Ami all head to school together and
for once seem to be enjoying the lives of normal girls. Seiya sits behind
Usagi and flirts shamelessly with her, just to bug her. (Yaten and Taiki
are in other classes). A bright flash of light shines through the window
of the class for a moment. Seiya and Usagi look at each other nervously.

Mamoru types on his laptop, eating a sandwich. He pauses, glancing up,
noticing the flash in the sky reflected on the screen of his
laptop. He frowns.

Haruka and Michiru are out for a drive in Haruka's Ferrari. Haruka is in
the passenger seat for a change, with her hands over her head, and Michiru
sits happily in the driver's seat. Both look, for once, relaxed; there's a
shot of several shopping bags (clothes and food) piled around Haruka's
feet.

Haruka remarks that Michiru's become a pretty good driver, and Michiru
laughs, "Hai, but I had the best of teachers... even if that teacher
didn't ever get a real license of her own." She giggles, and Haruka
crosses her eyes, biiih'ing Michiru.
Haruka slickly purrs, "That's not all I have to teach you, Michiru..."
"Ara... is it time for another lesson so soon?" Michiru smiles back slyly.
"Of course. The one thing we have a lot of these days is time, ne?"
Michiru blushes faintly and Haruka seems amused by the reaction...

... and then the light flashes in the sky over the car, (which, mind, is
traveling at a good pace) and something plummets out of the sky, a short
distance ahead of the car... Michiru screams and slams on the brakes,
Haruka grabs the wheel and WRENCHES it to the side, so the car turns
and skids sideway along the street before coming to a stop INCHES from
the fallen object...

Haruka and Michiru get out of the car and run to the object.. then gasp in
horror to see that it's the horribly battered Sailor Pluto!
"PLUTO!" Haruka screams, and they bend down to help her....

Michiru cradles Pluto in her lap, looking very upset. "Haruka, we have to
get her to a doctor..!" Pluto flutters in and out of consciousness; she
looks at her two friends and whispers, "The... the Millenium is coming."
Then she passes out again with a sigh...

Haruka and Michiru stare at each other in confusion. "The millenium?"
