"gay" fanfic spam, I thought about writing a *real* gay lemon,
myself, i.e. no cop-out changes to female form. I gave that up,
since I really don't have the time for yet another fic project (I
multi-task, but there are limits :) and I'd have to do reasearch
for this one, too. Anyway, thanks for doing this.
Let's say that it's not a cop out in the fact that it's not a guy-in-a-
girl-body going with a guy ... It's definately not female-female,
either. ^_^ That's why it makes some of the guys here uncomfortable
when they read it. *grin* Not a naked, curvy figure in sight...

Oh no! What are we going to do?! The sky is falling!

Hmmm, that's very interesting.. So the romance was more upsetting
than the sex? What does that say? That two men seeking pleasure
together is more acceptable than two men in love?
Hmm... I've never seen that type of reaction in my female Ranma-Akane
scenes ... But then, I guess that's just the general male bias for
fem-fem things, and it doesn't really matter about the diff between
romance and just looking for 'fun'...
Not at all unsurprising for most males. Back to the 'I like girls so
even if the story is written with girl-girl it's okay' mentality we
already discussed.
Hrm ... there's also a thing in lemon 'fics for girls mastrubating,
and that seems perfectly fine ... but I've never read one where a
guy does that ... I wonder if that would be even less well received
than a general male-male scene or what...
I doubt it. After all, nearly every male masturbates, so it's at
least a topic that they're comfortable with at a physical level. They
might not find it very erotic reading, but it would suprise me if it
caused the same level of discomfort as most het males show reading gay
erotica. I suspect the reason you don't see a lot of it, is exactly
that, it's more of 'bodily function' than something that would inspire
erotic thought.
After all you very rarely see fanfic authors go into great detail
about a character's trip to the bathroom. ;)
: Personally I could have lived without this 'fic, since answers to those
: questions weren't really
: easy, but I think it was a good thing this story was written, since it made
: me think. Hope I wasn't
: the only one.
And Kudos to you, Jussi. Not many people are able to do that.
*nod* But it seemed to be a 'fic that made the readers think, or at least
re-evaluate their feelings. (All the replies I've receieved have been
from males, BTW)
The true sign of a good fic. (The thinking, not the gender bias in
replies)
