I'm surprised that you of all people would actually not want to see her in
Amber...
The Courts of Chaos on the other hand......
Who wrote this?
A seies of novels by Roger Zelazny....
The first chronicles a great guy Corwin and his epic struggle to gain a
throne in a multi-verse sort of like the reality of Plato's cave. (until
you realize that with the first
person perspective ..well...maybe he's not that great... but then neither
are any of the other characters...
The second series of books is about his son Merlin... who is actually a
quite a
bit nicer....bit still has his bad points...he has the tendancy to turn
into a...well a...deamon when he gets pissed off....it's all his mother's
side of the families fault...
There is also a diceless game (which of course stresses character
over statistics) which usually is considered to take place with the
(nonexistant) relatives of Merlins' generation.

I met a Lady in the Meads,
Full beautiful, a faery's child,
Her hair was long, her foot was light
And her eyes were wild.
