Ranma smiled down at the little black pig as it looked up at her,
not exactly sure what to do. Her natural instinct was to say something
nasty about the creature, but she also had the craziest conflicting
feeling that she should be nice. "Well...A pig's a pig. Not much we can
do with it."
Akane looked over at the pig-tailed girl beside her, not really
sure what to make of what Ranma was saying. The two of them had been
getting along really well since they met, if you discount that one
incident, and that was minor in a way, but she also knew Ranma was not
exactly the most feminine of girls. It really surprised her to hear
something that mild coming from her mouth. "Are you OK Ranma?"
Ranma shrugged, "Of course I am." She looked down at the pig,
noticing the bandanna around it's neck. Picking up the small creature and
holding it carefully, she looked at the yellow and black scarf, wondering
where she had seen it before. "Say Akane, Have ya ever seen a scarf like
this before?"
Akane looked at the small pig, who for some reason was suddenly
very quiet. Ranma was right, she had seen a similar bandanna somewhere.
Now who had one like that...."That looks like the same one Ryouga was
wearing yesterday."
"Ryouga, huh!" Ranma snorted, "You know, he never did say why he
was looking for me yesterday. I wonder what he wants?"
Akane rolled her eyes, exasperated at Ranma. "Well, he may have
been really confused you know. After all, it's not every day that an old
friend from an all boys school turns out to be a rather cute looking
girl."
Ranma blushed suddenly, "Ah comon. Ryouga knows me, and I sort of
remember him. The two of us were going to fight, but he didn't show up
for about four days. By that time, father was pulling me along on that
trip."
Akane looked over at Ranma, seeing some of the emotions playing
across her face. "You didn't like being pulled along like that did you?"
The pig-tailed girl grimaced. "Not really. I mean it was sort of
fun going places with him, after all, he's the only family I have, but it
was hard for me. I was always leaving people I knew, never really getting
to know anyone, and I could never allow myself to make any friends." She
smiled a little, "I also used to be sort of a terror. Always acting
extremely macho, being boisterous, and looking for an excuse to test my
fighting skills."
The Tendo girl giggled, "Well, some things haven't changed. You
still do all of that tomboy!"
The small pig was taking in the conversation in surprise. Not
only was Ranma a girl, but one who had always been lonely! And he had the
audacity to challenge her! *This is terrible,* the pig thought, *Not only
did I go searching for Ranma when she had been at the right place at the
right time, but I was looking to beat up a _girl_!*
Ranma turned to Akane. "Hey! I'm trying, so give me a brake
will'ya? Besides, I grew up as a boy!"
Akane looked up at the ceiling, "True...but still, you are my
fiancee, and it would be nice if you tried to be a little bit more
feminine."
Ranma grumbled low, "Yeah...anyways, you should be glad that I'm
your fiancee, unless you like Kuno...or are you still waiting for
Tofu-Sensei?"
A bright red blush slowly climbed up Akane's face as she
remembered that Ranma had figured out the one person she did like.
"Ahh...Let's get back to the little guy in your arms. What do you want to
call him?"
The highlights in Ranma's hair sparkled a little as she shook her
head suddenly, "Me? Why should I name him?"
Akane giggled, "Well, you did find him, and obviously Ryouga left
him to be found. I think he was trying to do something to get over the
embarrassment for yesterday."
Ranma looked down, speaking in a whisper. "I...I don't know how
to take care of a pet Akane. I never had to."
"It isn't that hard Ranma, after all, it's almost like taking care
of a doll."
A frustrated sigh answered Akane. "I've never had a doll Akane.
Nor a stuffed toy, or anything feminine. I was a boy remember?"
Shaking her head, the Tendo girl said, "What are you going to do
then? You just can't put the pig outside, he'd freeze in this weather.
Besides, you should keep him since he is a gift."
"Ohhh....OK, I'll keep him, but I still have no idea what to name
him." the pig- tailed girl groused. "What do you think?"
Akane looked at the little black pig. "Well he's small and
cute...How about P- chan."
Ranma's eyes narrowed in thought. "P-chan uh? Not bad I guess,
but why that?"
Akane smiled at P-chan and gently rubbed his head, "Well in
English Pig is spelled with a P and chan for small. it's nice easy and
cute."
The rolled eyes said it all. "It identifies him all right, but
still. It's a male pig, why not name it something a little bit more
masculine?"
Akane sighed. "Ranma, would any cute and feminine girl name a pet
pig something disgustingly masculine? I mean, even with the experience of
a few weeks, don't you think that a normal girl would be a little more
feminine?"
Ranma growled, standing up suddenly and clutching P-chan to her
breast. "I didn't start off as a girl! I was a boy! I grew up as a boy,
learned how to be a boy, and did everything as a boy! I've only been a
girl for a little while."
The newly named P-chan was both embarrassed and in heaven at the
same time. While he knew he shouldn't be here, shouldn't even be
listening to this conversation, it was nice to be held by a girl. Of
course, some of that embarrassment came from the fact that this girl was
the 'boy' he had sworn revenge on. Still, he could get over the past, and
that meant that he had to do everything he could to see that Ranma was
never hurt again. *Don't worry Ranma, I'll make sure that you are never
lonely again, even if I have to be a pig most of the time. I'll be there
to help and comfort you in any way I can.*
Akane laughed out loud, "I know, but you are very cute you know,
and I would like to have a feminine fiancee."
The last word suddenly broke through P-chan's bliss.
*Fiancee?!?!?*
"BWEEE!!"
