Just a thought, to spread the "Akane" plot points around a bit, 
how about when the "Cat Fist" plotline comes up (instigated by Tsubasa 
this time?) *Nabiki* is the only one who can pull Ranma out of it?  This 
both disgusts and somewhat intrigues her, and both she and Ukyou have to 
re-examine their relationships with Ranma...
