While I like BGZ eps 8&9 (and 1 to some extent) the rest are a typical

otakufic.

The otakucharacter somehow solves every problem by himself, and generally
seems to
be a genius. 

... even if he does act like an idiot at times.  (*How* many times does he
stand in front of a barrage of missiles?  I'm going to have to reread this)
