With the help of a certain Knight...
Well, here is the revised scene.

THE NEXT DAY...
Bert groaned to himself over all of the paperwork that Twister's
little 'date' with Katherine Madigan of Genom had caused. The resulting
destruction, and the demonstrated 'powers' of the psionist had not only
impressed the purple headed vice-president, but had made those few that
knew Bert was now a member of the department ask why 'The Jedi' didn't
know that was going to happen. They actually expected him to be able to
see into the future.
"Why is it _I_ get the case? I've already got enough to do
looking for Hollister," he groaned to Daley, who had handed him the file.
Daley grinned at the younger redhead, trying his best not to burst
out laughing at what he was complaining about. Despite his earlier
misgivings about Bert joining the ADP, incidents and crimes had reduced
considerably. It was his personal opinion it had more to do with Bert's
quiet intimidation and Priss' open display of weaponry than anything else;
The rumours that had been going around Wolf's Place because of them had
caused a number of beings to get nervous, including his contact in the
boomer underground. "Why Bert. Isn't it obvious that a _Jedi_ is the
perfect person to handle a _Miracle Worker_? Two engineering geniuses who
just happen to know one another, have similar friends, and possible family
connections, and you wonder why?"
Bert grimaced, "Daley, I did _not_ need that reminder. I know
this squad I've been assigned to handles unusual incidents, but why should
I be stuck with the paperwork? Damn it, what ELSE could go wrong today?!"
That was when he suddenly heard Nene's voice in conversation with
someone else...and stiffened as he realized that he shouldn't have opened
his mouth. Again.
"...saw the young man in question handle energy balls? That is
quite a story Ms. Natsumi. How is it he would be able to do something
like that when he did not have any weaponry on him?"
Natsumi looked at the red headed woman she was walking with
through the offices of the ADP. "Believe me, Inspector Romanova, it is
more than possible, especially with that particular young man. Twister is
an extremely able martial artist, and someone who can fight with an
unbelievable ability. If boomers were after him, he is well able to
handle himself, but it's the people who sent that huge machine to attack
the restaurant that has me worried. I would think that the ADP could put
aside their prejudices long enough to work with the Knight Sabers."
Nene raised her eyebrows. "You know Twister?"
Natsumi smiled, "Yes, although not romantically. I believe he's
taken."
Bert got up suddenly and tried to flee, wondering where he could
disappear to. He seriously considered hiding under the desk for a moment,
and very nearly summoned his suit as the voices drew closer to where his
desk was, sending him into near-panic. For the first time he wished he
had taken Professor Miyabi's offer to take a few lessons on Magic. He
could certainly use a teleportation spell at the moment; he had the
ability, just not the training.
A nearby chuckle broke into his thoughts, "Finally he understands.
Knowledge gained to be used it is. Refuse not the offers of it."
To Daley's amazement, Bert exclaimed "SHUT UP YODA!"
Unfortunately, it was just a little bit too loud as he found
himself abruptly glomped by a black haired magic user. "My mystical
Knight. I have finally found you!"
Nene glared from the doorway at a rather flustered and embarrassed
Jedi as he was kissed firmly on the lips.
He had the feeling he was going to find out what Ranma usually
felt like really soon...
"Why, how nice, it seems that you also know Bert." Nene said in a
cheerful, but somewhat icy tone, making Daley wince involuntarily. "I do
hope he'll be more help to you since HE has the case."
Natsumi smiled, not really hearing the tone of voice Nene had
used. At the moment, she was concentrating on the man in front of her.
In the time she had been here, Natsumi had learned that Bert was a member
of the Knight Sabers, a supposedly mercenary group that went out of their
way to protect the citizens of this city from the biomechanoids known as
'boomers'. After a little bit of investigation, she also learned that he
had to keep his identity a secret given the attempts by the authorities
and his enemies to find him. Her own search for her Knight had been
hampered somewhat, but she had to take things slow; the family archives
recorded the events and disasters that had taken place when involving
yourself in the affairs of another reality.
Smiling seductively, Natsumi said, "He should be. After all, he
did save my world from an out of control elf, although he did have some
help from Yoda."
Daley's eyebrows shot up at that. He had been watching silently,
trying not to get in between an obviously angry Nene, an overly amorous
woman, and the stuttering Inspector. To also hear her refer to someone
named Yoda as Bert had done earlier, as well as a reference to another
world made him wonder where the 'Jedi' was from. If he _was_ from another
planet, which would explain some of the weirder things including Nene's
fighter, how many others were there from off planet? "Bert, Which world
_did_ you meet this woman on?"
Bert looked up at Daley, desperately attempting to remove Natsumi
without being rude about it. Having amorous Japanese women clinging to
him was frightening, especially having observed his friends Ranma and
Twister. He was not anxious to repeat those particular aspects of his
friends abilities. "Ahh....Well...It was a while ago when I was training
to be a Jedi, and I sort of stumbled across a sword wielding elf who had a
taste of too much power. It was a place much like earth was in the late
eighties, early nineties."
Natsumi sighed, "He was quite noble, defending the weak and
innocent, fighting a gargoyle, and attempting to use his powers as little
as possible. He is truly a man with whom any woman would be proud to
love."
Nene's eyes widened at that, and she stalked out of the room
rather angry, followed by a confused and beeping droid. "_I'M_ GOING OUT
ON PATROL IN _MY_ X-WING!"
Bert winced, but kept his mouth shut.

Yes, I am evil Wyrm.
I wonder if he's going to be able to stand your sense of humour when he
travels to meet you and Ed?
