Because Ranma thinks of himself as a male, and has spent at least 16 years
of his life as a male. It's gay because Ranma's body, to him, is just
something he 'wears', and it doesn't change his personality or his psyche
or anything else - the only thing it changes is his appearance (and his
speed, etc). It's purely physical.

It's kind of like dressing up as a bull and having sex with a cow - you
are not a bull, even if your outfit is realistic down to the last detail.
You are still you. Therefore it would be beastiality. It's the inside that
counts, not the appearance.

I think the problem here is POV.

don't know the origanal example, but let's use Kunoh (Oh BTW my spelling
on names STINKS).  
If you walked up to them the next morning and interviewed Kunoh and said
something like "Have you ever had Homosexual relationship?" His response
would problably be some sort of insult followed by a pummeling.

Well, the point is that I'm talking about 'gay Ranma' not 'gay Ranma's
partner', ne?

But, about the partner:

If it's someone like Kunou who doesn't know (or refuses to realise the
truth), then "not really" - because the info about Ranma really being a
guy isn't known to him. If he did find out _after_, then I think he'd
be feeling pretty violated, etc, even if he started the encounter.

If the guy DOES know that Ranma's really a guy, then I'd say "yes".
Although he'd use as excuse like "Ranma's got the body of a girl!"
he'd still be in a relationship with the male-personality of Ranma.

If he isn't in a relationship, and just wants sex with Ranma, then he
probably doesn't care about anything but sex, and so he's not only in
the "yes" category, but he's also a bastard. ;p

Also Ranma doesn't wear a coustume he BECOMES a girl in all physical
ways.  A scary thought would be when Ranma becomes a girl for an extend
time and has to introduced to the Tampon ("You stick that WHERE?")  But
any way, Even though Ranma thinks he is a man he IS a woman.  If
Ranma-chan is having sex with a man then it is heterosexual.  But to say
it is similiar to saying that two guys having sex is actually
heterosexual, just because one guy believes he is a
woman-trapped-in-a-man's-body.  Or that a woman who  was a man (but had
the snip snip operation) is having gay sex when with a man.

Well, yes. I do think a guy who had has a sex change is still a man, and
is therefor having a gay relationship. Changing into a female body, which
doesn't work properly, anyway, just is a way to make it more 'acceptable'
in society.

In Ranma's case, it may _look_ to the outsider to be heterosexual, but
*anyone* who knows Ranma will realise that it is _not_.

Now this is from my point of view, from Ranma's he may think he has had
gay sex and would affect him as if he were a man. 

Exactly. And it's Ranma's POV you have to talk about, as it would be,
after all, his body.

One of the few non Viz Ranma's I've been able to see was #125 (somewhere
around there) where Akane connects with a frying pan and Ranma thinks
that he was born a female.  So here's the question, if Ranma while in
this state of mind changed into boy-type and had sex Akane, would that
be a Lesbian encounter?

>From Ranma's POV, yes it would be. From people who didn't know that Ranma
felt that way, they would think that it wouldn't be. But as soon as Ranma
changed back into thinking like his normal self again, then it wouldn't
be, if he continued the relationship with Akane.

But of course the most important thing is how well its written. 
 Well that's more then enough for now. :)
