Well, since so many seem over the past few weeks to have posted FF
ideas they'll never write, here are two of mine. ^_^ Anyone who wants to use
these is perfectly free to do so (in fact I'd be very interested to see what
someone could do with them), however don't complain if I do the same one day
(yeah, right! :) I'm in enough trouble with DC without starting anything
else. ^_^ ).
1) SM (somewhat dark but more dramatic)
The Senshi from approx. 1995AD in a universe in which (after their
original deaths) Beryl and Metallia were defeated/destroyed in the original
battle with the Silver Millennium, having been reincarnated (more or less as
they were in our timeline and in similar circumstances but on their respective
worlds) and brought to the moon (still the centre of a thriving civilisation
that once more spans the solar system) for training once more as the guardians
of the young princess Usagi (soon to be queen of the moon and high-queen over
all the kingdoms of the solar system now that Serenity's life is nearing its
end) are to be taken by Pluto to observe the final battle with Beryl and
Metallia as part of their training (I assume Mamoru (Prince in Waiting of
Earth) to be present and training with them). Able by Setsuna's power to
stand in effect outside time, they should be able to observe and pass amongst
the combatants whilst remaining completely insubstantial to anyone native to
that time. They enter the gate without trouble but suddenly a second image of
Pluto (the canonical one) appears momentarily and in the next instant the
Senshi and Usagi find themselves slammed from their journey to a very nasty
landing in the 1995AD Tokyo of the SM universe we know while their Setsuna
watches in horror and can do nothing (the canonical Pluto didn't intend this -
it was caused by the interaction between her's and her alternate's
travelling). The finer details of how they find out they're in their own time
I'll leave to anyone who wants to try this, but things boil down to their
believing that somehow their attempted journey to the past was responsible for
Beryl's victory and their setting about trying to find a way to put things
`right' which basically means destroying the canonical SM timeline by changing
its past to match their own (they don't realise that their own is a separate
alternative and perfectly safe). Of course the canonical Senshi (and I'd
include all of them, even Chibi-Usa if I were writing this) have to prevent
the devastation of civilisation as it exists in their timeline. No matter how
much they might marvel at the stories their alternates tell them of their
civilisation, they can't allow the effective murder of everyone now alive and
countless generations of humanity before them (murder because the alternative
universe would have diverged so much that it would be highly unlikely that
anyone alive in our timeline would ever have been born there, not to mention
the fact that no current Earth civilisation would be as it is there). Things
would get very complicated as doubts gnaw at both sides and some allegiances
might change as each group become unsure as to just what `past' is real and
whether both can coexist. Most important though would be the fact that in
this case the enemy isn't evil in themselves and believe as intensely as the
Senshi in the rightness of what they are trying to do.
2) BGC (*very* dark)
This could have too beginnings. Either an arrogant, self-assured BGC
otaku or the canonical KS themselves are shifted to a BGC universe in which
the circumstances are completely reversed, i.e. in which a nearly-broken
Genom, last fragment of the once huge multi-national corporation (the rest of
whom all now dance to the Stingray influence) struggles to protect a mega-
tokyo with inferior boomer models against the rising boomer rampages of the
rival Stingray conglomerate while an insane, power-mad Katsuhito Stingray
plots their downfall, having first set his daughter to create the Knight
Sabres, a fanatical terrorist organisation bent on seeing his last opposition
in Mega-Tokyo to its knees and his hated nemesis Quincy (an honourable man of
course in this alternative) to his grave by whatever means is necessary.
Basically this alternative of the KS are *not* nice people, especially since
their civilian guise is unchanged but hides fanaticism, megalomania, hatred
and perhaps even insanity rather than compassion. The various BGC-series eps
would be as they were in canon but with the horrible twists brought about by
the circumstances of this alternative (i.e. Mason might have been an agent set
to assassinate the KS leader; Largo could be a last-ditch effort on Quincy's
and Mason's part to destroy them; Sylvie, Anri and co. could be terrorist 33S
machines determined to get the DD to the KS etc.). This is *not* a nice
universe and I don't imagine either the otaku or the canonical KS having a
very nice time there (in the otaku's case as he/she would side initially with
the wrong people), nor would it be a nice place to write about, particularly
given the need to deal with writing the KS alternatives <brrrr!!!>. The other
alternative would be to shift the evil KS alternatives into the canonical BGC
universe but I think the first idea would be more interesting.
Well that's it. As I said, I *very* much doubt that I'll ever have
time to try expanding on these so if anyone wants to have a crack at them...
