I agree. The NARRABUNDAH 1/2 series I work on is quite obviously an 
otaku-fic - we've put ourselves all over the place, but no-one's any more 
powerful than anyone in the standard Ranmaverse - in fact, some are way 
less powerful than their replacements. The reasoning behind it was 'Hey, 
wouldn't it be funny if that was us there!' Self-indulgenst, certainly, 
but no god-powers.
