I think you have too much time on your hands, then.  If you're going to 
contemplate that, you should support your hypothesis with definite examples 
from the manga where Ranma is attracted to men.  And why single out Ranma for 
this treatment?  The same exercise could be done for all characters, not just 
Ranma (Akane is just the most obvious choice).

... Actually, while I'm at it, I've always been curious as to why lemonfics
almost always have lesbianism included but no homosexuality.. Well, not
really curious because I'm GUESSING *just from the posts* that a good 90% of
the FFML readers {and posters} are male, and for most of you, that works.
I'm generally not so serious about arguing this sort of thing, but it sets
my teeth on edge. It's kind of bass-ackwards to condemn gayfic but produce
lemons in which all the women have sex but the men get nervous just being in
the same room together. (A la "The Seduction of Ataru" and "Marital Arts" --
it's outright stated, methinks.) La, how silly.

I think you missed the whole point of the scene in Marital Arts where Ranma 
does state that he has a problem to being in the same room with another guy 
during sex.

That IS the point of that scene; to point out that there is a double standard 
in lemon fanfiction (and stories in general, I suppose) that lesbian/female 
bisexuality is somehow more "acceptable"or "less gay" than male 
homosexuality/bisexuality.

That doesn't necessarily mean that I'll write a gay (male) scene in 
Marital Arts, but it is unlikely.  One of the points of the series that I 
wanted to explore was the effect of Ranko's bisexuality had on her 
character and those around her as opposed to Ranma's heterosexuality.  Why do 
you think I had Ryoga run away after finding out about Ranko and Shampoo?  He 
has to spend some time by himself to think about how he's going to handle 
being in the relationship (or not).

There is a greater female imbalance (recurring characters) on the part of 
Ranma 1/2 to begin with, making just a "straight" pairing almost impossible 
for all the characters.  And to be quite frank, most of the male characters 
aren't around long enough to develop any characteristics other than "fight 
Ranma" or "marry Akane" that make them sympathetic enough to want to expand 
their roles into a love interest.

Why do you think you see all these stories, based on the anime, that pair up 
Kuno and Nabiki, and Ryoga and Ukyo?  There's no real evidence for these in 
the manga (at least I haven't seen any), but it just makes everything "neater" 
if all the relationships get resolved without introducing new characters as 
love interests - look at the resistance to Konatsu and Akari (to a lesser 
extent).
