Well, from the many, many posts on this subject, I get the feeling
that we will never really get a consensus on this subject. From the whole
range of e-mails, the main feelings are 
1. Don't read it if you don't like it, 
2. Don't write it because it's perverted, and/or doesn't serve any purpose, or 
3. Should be limited b/c it is merely who can be the most
disgusting/outrageous/whatever.

        What I want to know is if this is merely applying to only the Ranma
fics out there, or what. It seems that some people draw the conclusion that
Ranma is the only genre of fanfic out there, with perhaps Sailor Moon as an
odd aside. This is not true, and I was wondering if you (all who are
commenting) mean that gay fanfics should not be written because it is OOC
for the Ranma universe. Now, this OOC-ness does not apply to many other
series, including Sailor Moon (Haruka, Michiru, Seiya <grin>), as well as
YYH, CLAMP stuffs (TB. X. RGV. etc). So should yaoi fanfics not be written
for any series at all b/c it is perverted/whatever?

        Also, I was wondering if this has gotten past gay 'fics. I remember
reading comments about the Kasumi/Soun fic, which is obviously not gay, with
some other disturb/dark fics thrown in. So, is this thread expanding out to
ban, or at least limit the other types of fics that people find offensive?

        For myself, I don't have a problem with fanfics dealing w/yaoi
situations. After all, it is a FANfic, written by a fan who has an idea, or
a new angle to a given series. Who should say what is good, or bad? The
Kasumi/Soun fic (forgive me, seem to have forgotten the name) is one which I
personally found disturbing, but also one with a plausible backing. Other
fics which are under the category of normal I have deleted for reasons such
as bad writing. That is what I would advise all of you to do. If you don't
like it, don't read it. One person's like is another's dislike- don't mix up
critisizing bad writing with personal taste.
