I would like to know something...are there any actual JAPANESE on the
FFML? There is a reason I would like/need to know. I will be embarking
on a 3 1/2 month study trip to Japan starting next February, 1998. In
that time I will probably still be on the list, but I need help with
improving that ever so small Japanese vocabulary of mine. I've seen some
of the Romanji that has been posted on here, and personally, some of it
scares me.
Example: Ryouga, Ryoga.
Which one is right? I've tried to look up the Hirigana for his name
to know for sure, but I can't find it anywhere! If the "o" sound is one
that is held out longer than the usual "o" in say, Tony, it is spelled
"ou", other wise it is just "o". The same syndrome goes for Ukyou,
Tendo, and Kunou. I don't know if I'm spelling ANY of these correctly!
I'm working on the learning the hirigana and katakana, but it's taking
time. Not an easy task at all! The fact that they are all syllables
helps, but when "n" takes a syllable all its own, things start to mess
with ya! How many of you knew Ranma had 3 syllables? If you look at the
hirigana of the Japanese title, there are 3 symbols. La-n-ma. Got it?
At any rate, any assistance that could be provided would be much appreciated.
