Ducks, and all other birds, breathe air. They just hold their breath when
they go underwater. So do whales, dolphins, sealions, etc..
Octopi, fish, eels, tadpoles, etc. breather air dissolved in water. If the
water has no air dissolved in it (just pure H20), they can't breathe either.
