You have to admit, the ML does weird things sometimes, and I don't think
it'd be above accidently omitting a few "subscribe" messages. But most
importantly of all, when you spam or test message, whatever, there is no
real consequence since everything that was sent during that time
(including non-spam) was like it was never sent. So IMO, I think test
messages when the ML has been down for a day, and your subscription >didn't
do anything for awhile after that... justifies tests.

                       ***VERY VERY IMPORTANT NOTE***
DO NOT POST TEST MESSAGES TO THE LIST!!!

If you think you've been unsubscribed, see the section below "* I think I've
been unsubscribed. What do I do now?"

<snip>

* I THINK I'VE BEEN UNSUBSCRIBED. WHAT DO I DO NOW?

If the ML seems too quiet and you think you've been unsubscribed, just try
subscribing again. It won't let you be subscribed twice so you don't have
to worry about getting tons of double posts if you haven't been
unsubscribed. DO NOT SEND TEST MESSAGES TO THE ML!!!

Recently, there have been a few folks who somehow were subscribed twice when
they used the above method. We're still tracking down the reasons for this
happening, but one way to circumvent this is to send an unsubscribe message
first, before you try to resubscribe. If for some reason you still
experience difficulties, post a message to the moderator at:
[fanfic-owner@fanfic.com] and explain the problem.

PLEASE DO NOT POST TEST MESSAGES!
