A shudder? O_o Hmm. I'm really curious to know which fanfic(s) illicited
that physical response.
Most fanfic writers overrate the technology, sometimes by two or three
orders of magnitude. (But if ridiculous tech is what you want in your
game, who am I to stop you from writing up the stats?)
I haven't read alot of BGC fics (a time problem unfortunately), but the ones
I have read didn't seem to distort parameters beyond what was presented in
the series. Most of them were very original and creative with their
"additions" to the technology, while maintaining a sensitivity to the level
of technology preceding (or suceeding) their story's timeline.
Hmm...
I wonder what fanfics the first person read that made him feel that way? If
the second participant of that convo is on this list, keep reading and stop
cringing! Reading is *never* something to be ashamed of :)
